Hello,
We are happy to announce that we have two new Instructor Trainers here at Aquatic Adventures LLC and Viking Dives. They are the only two this side of Dallas, TX. As far North as Grand Junction, CO. As far west as Pheonix, AZ. We are able to train and certify Instructors right here as both of our facilities are now 5 Start Professional Development Centers.

Teaching Decompression Procedures locally presents some unique challenges. Especially in the winter! We got it done, but the air was a bit chilly - we had to jump into the truck to warm up before breaking down our gear.

I did get a couple of pictures of a beautiful New Mexico sunset though.

Annie came for a refresher and stayed for an Advanced Buoyancy Control class. We had a great time!

I'm happy to report that Mike and I completed the Instructor Trainer Workshop and are now officially Instructor Trainers.

What does that mean for you? It means Viking Dives can train you to become an Open Water Scuba Diving Instructor and you don't have to leave home to do it.

Mike and I will be running our first instructor examination in two weeks and we are already slotting folks into our next Instructor Development Course!

If you are already a scuba instructor, but you're tired of paying rediculous renewals, we can help you out there too. You can cross over to SDI, get more freedom in teaching, and even feel valued by your agency.

A few photos of the Blue Hole Debris field. In the first photo you can see the line that goes to the single buoy with a very large rock pressing on the line. The remaining pictures pan to the right toward where the former 25 foot platform was, and they give some idea of what the debris field looks like.

We're still not sure when Blue Hole will re-open, but we will be diving in other lakes in the meantime.

The first day of open water tech training is complete. S-drills, valve drills, DSMB deployments, hovering, one catfish rescued, and one entanglement in fishing line.

I'm happy to announce that I've completed the SDI Course Director course, and can now teach instructors, as well as crossover instructors from other agencies to SDI!

We are also cooperating with Aquatic Adventures LLC and the Dive4Vets Foundation. If you are a disabled vet who'd like to learn to dive, we can get them certified at no cost to you!

A little bit of tech, deep, open water, and advanced. It was a busy weekend!

If you're interested in becoming an instructor, we will- run a couple of IDCs this summer. You'll have the opportunity to learn to teach students while you and they are neutrally buoyant and in horizontal trim and make divers who actually enjoy diving.
