टिपिएसको मुद्दा बारे नयाँ जानकारी!
करिब ६ बर्षको लामो लडाईं पछि आज “मायोर्कास विरुद्ध रामोस/भट्टराई” मु्दा अन्त्य भएको जानकारी मुद्दाका वकीलहरु र वादीहरुले जानकारी दिएका छन्। नेपाल, एल सालभाडोर, हैटी, होन्डुरस, निकारागुवा, र सुडानको टिपिएस ट्रम्प सरकारले खारेज गरेपछि गएको ६ बर्षसम्म यहि मुद्दाको आधारमा हाम्रो टिपिएसले सुरक्षा पाई रहेको थियो। यस मुद्दामा नेपालको प्रतिनिधित्व गर्नु हुने केशव भट्टराई र सज्जन पाण्डे लगायत अन्य देशका अरु साहसी वादीहरुको कारणले यि ६ वटा देशका करिब चार लाख टिपिएस वाहकको कानुनी स्टेटस कायम रहनुका साथै उनीहरुले वर्क पर्मिट, स्वास्थ्य बीमा, तथा अन्य सुविधाहरुको फाईदा लिन सकेका थिए। यहि मुद्दा कै कारणले बाईडन सरकारले नेपालको टिपिएसको पनि जुन २४, २०२५ सम्म म्याद थपि दिएको छ। सबैको लागि स्थायी समाधान नभए सम्म टिपिएस न्यायको लागि हामी लडिरहनेछौं।
सन् २०१५ देखि नै अमेरिकामा रहेका नेपाली टिपिएस वाहकहरुको लडाईंमा अधिकारले नेतृत्वको भूमिका खेल्दै आएको छ। अनि यो मुद्दामा पनि आधिकारको सदस्यहरु केशव जी र सज्जन जी ले वादी बन्न तयार हुनु भएकोमा हामी गर्व गर्छौं। वहाँहरु कै साहस र नेतृत्वको कारणले नेपालको टिपिएस हाल सम्म लम्बिंदै आएको थियो। ACLU Foundations of Northern and Southern California (ACLU, ACLU of Southern California, ACLU of Northern California) , the Center for Immigration Law and Policy at UCLA School of Law (UCLA School of Law), Unemployed Workers United, Asian Americans Advancing Justice - AAJC, र Sidley Austin LLP (Official) जस्ता प्रतिष्ठित संस्थाहरुको कानुनी टोली प्रति पनि हामी हार्दिक आभार व्यक्त गर्न चाहन्छौं। गएको ६ वर्षमा वहाँहरुले अदालतमा हाम्रो समुदायहरुको प्रतिरक्षा गर्न आफ्नो अमुल्य समयको योगदान गर्नु भएको छ। देशभरि रहेका टिपिएस वाहकहरुको सुरक्षाको लागि हामीसंग सहकार्य गर्ने संस्थाहरु African Communities Together, Haitian Bridge Alliance, TPS Alliance / Alianza TPS, Central American Resource Center (CARECEN-LA), र the National Day Laborer Organizing Network प्रति पनि हार्दिक आभार। आउँदा दिनहरुमा पनि टिपिएसको लडाईं जारी राख्न हामी ऐक्यवद्ध छौं।

TPS Lawsuit Update!
Today after years of fighting, the legal team and plaintiffs announced the end to the the Ramos/Bhattarai v. Mayorkas lawsuit. For the last six year, he lawsuit has successfully continued to protect TPS holders after the Trump administration terminated TPS for Nepal, El Salvador, Haiti, Honduras, Nicaragua, and Sudan. Thanks to the bravery of the plaintiffs representing these countries, and our member leaders Keshav Bhattarai and Sajjan Pandey who were plaintiffs representing Nepal in the lawsuit, almost 400,000 people from all six countries were able to maintain status, work permits, health insurance and other benefits. Due to the lawsuit, the Biden administration announced an extension for Nepal TPS until June 24, 2025, and we are prepared to continue fighting for TPS justice until we win permanent residency for all.
Since 2015, Adhikaar has been the leading voice for Nepali TPS holders across the United States, and we are proud of two of our member leaders Keshav and Sajjan who stepped up to represent Nepali TPS holders in the lawsuity. Because of their courage and leadership, the lawsuit was successful in extending TPS for all these years. We are grateful to the legal teams from ACLU Foundations of Northern and Southern California, the Center for Immigration Law and Policy at UCLA School of Law, Unemployed Workers United, Asian Americans Advancing Justice – Asian Law Caucus, and the law firm Sidley Austin LLP, for giving hours and hours of their time representing and defending our communities in court these past six years. And thankful to our partner organizations African Communities Together, Haitian Bridge Alliance, National TPS Alliance, Carecen Los Angeles, and the National Day Laborer Organizing Network that stood with us hand in hand to protect TPS holders across all countries. Together, we are ready to continue fighting for TPS moving forward!.
