The Ngorongoro Crater Tanzania inhabits the Lesser Flamingos.🦩

The flamingos are smaller in size, leaving in large groups of over 1000 individuals.

Flamingos in the Crater are therefore very social, living in flocks. It is actually rare to see flamingos solo.

Elephants 💕🐘 live in strongly bonded, female led (matriarchal) called herds. Alongside the mother, other elephants usually aunts help to rear and protect calves.

They will often form a protective circle around the calf or even charge the threat in order to drive it away.

The lion 🦁 brothers sleep together with their heads against each other under the sun in the Serengeti.

Such behavior can be witnessed in the way that sub-adult males in a pride will often sleep alongside one another.

Males 🦁 may only spend a few years in a given pride but remain with their coalition partners throughout their lives.

The leopard 🐆 is a strong and agile climber who is often found resting on a tree branch during the day.

It is so comfortable up there that it often stalks prey and even hauls its kills up into the branches and the cat’s secret to surviving dangerous falls lies in its aerial righting flex.

What a perfect way to end a chilled Saturday out in the wilderness. 😁🤔

The golden or common jackal lives in the savanna, desert and arid grasslands as they can be best described as opportunistic omnivores for they cooperatively hunt small antelopes and also eat reptiles,insects, ground dwelling birds, fruits, berries and grass.

They will sometimes pick over kills made by large carnivores and even frequent rubbish dumps in pursuit of food.

The herd of zebra 🦓 joins the wildebeest migration as they are great in looking at any threat, the wildebeest have a good sense of hearing and smell that helps both to protect from the predator and searching in food.

The zebra has a great eye sight to see any threat.

Wildebeest are known to prefer short grasses, while zebras prefer longer ones. This creates a mutually beneficial relationship between the two species, as they are able to share the same grazing grounds without competing for food.

Hyenas are famously known for their scavenging abilities, but the spotted hyena is in fact a strong hunter too.

With a strong evolved colossal masseter jaw muscles the hyena is able to produce massive amounts of force in a specific section.

The Kori Bustard is Africa's heaviest flying bird and can weigh up to 19kg. It is a land bird with long neck and long foot ended by three fingers with light brown or grey plumage.

They are ground dwellers, hence the name bustard, meaning birds that walk. They fly only when necessary because of their weight.

They tend to remain in the same area as long as the food source is good, then they migrate as most animals do.

Elephants 🐘 are herbivores and eat a wide range of food sources in the wild, elephants eat mostly grass,wild fruits,twigs, shrubs and bananas.

Their main food source is grass,when it is available to them.

To eat,the elephants 🐘 sweep loose items into a pile and crush them into a manageable solid that can be picked up by the trunk.

Elephants will also happily eat tree barks,plant roots and even soil.

Tree bark is a great source of roughages, which will aid an elephants digestion.

Wildebeest migrate on a loop path through Tanzania and Kenya following the seasonal rains even when that involves passing through dangerous territory.

Wildebeest typically inhabit the Serengeti plains of southeastern Africa. For most of their lives, wildebeest graze in the grassy savannas and open woodlands of the plains, which straddle the nations of Tanzania and Kenya’s Maasai Mara.

Ostriches are one of the most peculiar but most amazing birds found on the planet, surviving through the savanna and woodland of Africa 🌍

Despite being the largest and flightless bird, ostriches have the ability to run up to 70km/h which makes them the fastest birds on land.

As flightless birds, ostriches are unable to build nests in trees, so they lay their eggs in holes dug in the ground. They lay the largest eggs of any living land animal and to make sure that the eggs are evenly heated, they occasionally stick their heads into the nest to rotate the eggs, which makes it look like they're trying to hide 🙈

Did you know?

The ostrich is the only bird with two toes, they have one big toe, which looks like a hoof. It carries the weight of the bird and a small toe. This helps them balance.

Not only are they the tallest land mammal, but they also have unique features, behaviours, and adaptations that make them truly fascinating creatures.

• Giraffes stand up pretty much all the time, they even sleep and give birth standing up.

• Giraffes don’t need much sleep, they have one of the shortest sleep requirements of any mammal. Giraffes don’t need much sleep, only between 10 minutes and 2 hours.
Giraffes are all unique, just like snowflakes and human fingerprints, no two giraffes have the same spots!

Real and true.. 💕🦓

Zebras hug as a way of relaxing and looking out for predators in any direction. With each zebra resting the head on the back of the other, it is restful for the neck while equally giving both animals a 360 degree view of their surrounding.

So, while the hug of zebras 🦓 is absolutely cute and affectionate 🤗 looking, it is a more practical adaptation for the wilderness they live in.

Elusive, empathetic and striking- the leopard 🐆 captures the enigmatic nature of introverted,sensing,feeling and perceiving behavior.

Leopards have astonishing navigation powers and an incredibly strong homing device. Their ability to orientate themselves, makes it very tricky to relocate these animals, as they often will return to the same areas.

I just can’t get enough of this amusing behavior that cheetahs 🐆 portray.

With their tear marks, cheetahs have built-in sun glare protection around their eyes, the marks run from the inside corners of their eyes down to the outside edges of their mouth. These marks help reflect the glare of the sun when they are hunting during the day.

* unlike other “big cats” cheetahs don’t roar. They growl 🐯 when facing danger, and they vocalize with sounds more equivalent to a high-pitched chirp or bubble.

Sharing is caring~ from my viewpoint of safari I enjoyed photographing these two cute adorable giraffes 🦒 while they were taking turns drinking water from this waterhole in the middle of the vastness in the endless plains of the Serengeti.

Giraffes 🦒 are herbivores and have a plant-based diet that includes leaves of acacia and mimosa trees, seeds, buds, branches of trees, and occasionally grass.

They are considered to be browsers not grazers, which means they mostly consume higher vegetation instead of grass from low vegetation.

A giraffe’s diet is simple but they have evolved to be efficient in how they eat.

One of the most interesting things about the giraffe’s diet is the way its eats. They have many traits that help them with eating as they spend around 18 hours a day finding food.

The impala is one of the most common and most graceful of all Africa’s antelopes. A slender, agile creature, it can clear formidable obstacles and run at speeds faster than 60km/h.

They are fleet runners who can leap up to 10m in length and 3m in height. They use their tremendous speed and agility to avoid predation, and seemingly for pure enjoyment.

Impala are diurnal, which means they are most active in the early morning and right before sunset. During the rainy season, impalas gather in groups of hundreds. In dry season the herds roam together to look for food. During the rainy season males can be territorial and will herd females around a territorial area.
