With over 2 miles from the nearest road, the best route was to go home grab boats and take the moose out by the St. John River. Flowing over 12 miles we were finally able to get it to where we could load it onto a trailer and bring it home for the client. It takes a village, one we are so thankful to have!

A REAL Backwoods Fur Trapping Excursion either remote or from the lodge with additional coyote hunting over bait or with hounds.

You keep all the fur we catch in traps during your 7 days stay with us, part of the trap line will be set up and ready for a check, however we will set more when you are here to give you the full experience. Target fur during this time is fisher, martin, weasel, and beaver depending on conditions.

On off days or nights, we can also give you the chance to harvest coyotes either over bait or with hounds.

We will have supper Sunday night when you arrive, trap trip is Monday ā€“ Saturday, depart the following Sunday.

Meals are included in this trip.

We tag all fur at our location before you leave on Sunday.

You need to purchase a Trapping License and big game hunting license in addition to price.

Current date available has you arriving December 15th and departing December 22, 2024.

Week Trapping Trip - $5,000.00 ā€“ includes up to two people $2000 per additional person

Not only is it super annoying to listen toā€¦. It makes it difficult for anyone to communicate on the channels.. itā€™s not that hard to change them. If you need help come to the lodge or get ahold of us and we would be more than willing to help!

Great day out in the bear woods with Lukas and the hounds yesterday!

Took the chance to get away last weekend to Steuben, Maine down on the coast. A friend of ours has a nice set up down there and invited us Halibut fishing and we are so glad that we did, talk about a completely different lifestyle than ours. We even got to check a few lobster traps. Itā€™s always so amazing to me how different everyoneā€™s life is and just how much knowledge it takes to do each trade! Needless to say.. although it was the trip Iā€™ll never forget, I wonā€™t be putting in an application, I donā€™t think you could live off Dramamine.. šŸ¤¦šŸ»ā€ā™€ļø

8th Annual Youth Day Bear Hunt Results - 2024

Itā€™s the end of FEBURARY! What an absolute crazy winter we have had so far. And by crazy I donā€™t mean like holy so much snow, I mean, HOLY, whereā€™s all the snow?! šŸ˜® It has affected us considerably, but what are you supposed to do when Mother Nature is in control? Nothing, just sit back and just be thankful that we live in the middle of nowhere and play the best game with the cards we are given. The Deer and Moose are having a VERY good winter with this little bit of snow so thatā€™s a GREAT thing about the poor winter we are having! In our travels that we have taken out in the woods, we feel that there are still quite a few deer out still roaming in their natural habitat! Unfortunately we havenā€™t been able to get the olā€™ hound dogs out as much as we Iike to after them coyotes. These horrible snow conditions have had us a bay as to not have the dogs get injured. However, we were able to get out in the early season after a few, and have even gotten quite a few off bait out behind the house this winter. I donā€™t know if we even kept track of how many we personally got, but I do know a few more deer are saved for every coyote that was taken down in the town of Allagash, and not just by us! I have heard of a few other locals being very successful here in town hunting them this winter! This winter we have had several people contact us in regard to the conditions both of on and off trail riding and the road/snow conditions out in the NMW. Recently, we got in contact with most of our clients for March that had reservations to come up snowmobiling and they have decided to cancel and wait for next year so to hopefully have a better quality ride. Our last group showed up Sunday to stay for the week, they were aware of the conditions but didnā€™t want to reschedule. We knew what kind of riding they were looking for and they werenā€™t going to find that here. We just didnā€™t want them to waste their time. Our ambitious fellas showed up and like any of us are

Our Story

Allagash Guide Service was established in 1980 by Robert and Nancy Condon, starting as just a little business catering to outdoor recreation.

From May 1995- June 2019, Sean and Kelley Lizotte, along with their children owned, operated and grew Allagash Guide Service during their time of ownership, making for the second owners.

In June of 2016, Brittany and Brandon Lane, purchased the business, making them the third business owners of Allagash Guide Service. Brandon and Brittany owned and operated a smaller business in Central Maine for 7 years that they started before purchasing Allagash Guide Service. During those 7 years, they realized they wanted to make the outdoor business a way of life and career path instead of just a hobby. Along with their two children, Lukas and Emilee, Brandon and Brittany are here to provide you with an outstanding outdoor experience for years to come no matter what your looking to plan!
