Landing at Montauk Point Airport in the Hamptons. Our charter planes are able to land you safely on this super-short runway, right on the tip of Long Island. Flew this beautiful Lab from Northern Maine to its new home in the Lehigh Valley today. Rather than a 10 hour grind each way, it was a quick charter up and back and all are happy. Vertivue

It was stressful trying to figure out what to do about thick, complex, fast moving cloud layers but I came up with the right plan at the 11th hour and found magic at 18,000 feet east of Buffalo. No photos can do this experience justice. Just as the sun reaches totality, a swath of darkness and envelops the airplane at Mach 2.5, and you are instantly immersed in an unexplainable colorful black tunnel with a three-dimensional sparkling diamond ring in the sky. One of the more phenomenal experiences of my life. Thank you Wen Young for the idea and thank you Scott Nagy for a photograph shows a little bit of what we saw but nothing can beat the naked eye.

April 8th is the total solar eclipse and people are getting VERY excited. In the NorthEast, the total eclipse will be experienced in a band from Buffalo to Portland Maine. I have received no fewer than 20 requests for flights up into that region and several clients are making multi-day vacations out of it! Unfortunately, at this time I am totally booked April 8! If it's cloudy that day, we'll try to witness it airborne. It's going to be a very interesting day with thousands of planes headed in that direction.

The week, Vertivue donated several fantastic night sightseeing flights over New York City to five Ukrainian soldiers who lost limbs to Russian land mines. They are all in the United States recovering from theor injuries and receiving prosthetics. My copilot Dave and I gave them a view of New York City that few Americans get to see. Thank you to Volunteers for Ukraine for all you are doing to support the Ukraine resistance.

HELICOPTER RIDES THIS WEEKEND. We rarely do this but we will be giving thrilling helicopter rides all weekend out of the Slatington Airport as part of the Spooktacular Hot Air Balloon Festival. We'll fly all around the Blue Mountain gap area which is stunning from the air. The weather looks great Saturday and Sunday. The Festival is in the afternoon and early evening but I'm also doing longer private helicopter tours by appointment in the mornings.
