Dr.John J Brumbaugh Nature Center is a fun place to visit. The 2/3 mile main loop was very well marked and maintained with lots of off shoots to explore. The nature center is about 30 min from the cabin.

Hiked Cuyahoga Valley National Park last two times we visited WinklerWald! Great trails, rocks to climb and waterfalls to see. The park is about 30 min from the cabin. We hiked The Ledges and Blue Hen Falls
The Ledges had fun rocks to climb and was not too difficult to navigate. Blue Hen Falls was pretty challenging…lots of steps. Thank goodness we brought our hiking poles

Fun on lake Berlin. Winklerwald has 4 kayaks for guests to use. The boat launch is about 1/4 mile from the cabin.

Perfect stop after all that kayaking. Aeonian Brewing company is one of our favorites! They have great beer choices and delicious menu.

WinklerWald has 4 kayaks available to use. We don’t have lake access, however, there are 2 boat launches less than a mile away on Berlin Lake.

Hi Amy here…. I am the oldest sibling on this Winklerwald adventure. We are headed to the cabin for some fun and prepping for the next renter. On the way we stopped to stretch our legs at Morgan park-a Portage county park. It’s right off the turnpike exit 193. It’s a nice walk through a meadow and woods.

My brothers, sisters and I have always dreamed of having a place for our growing families to gather and play for generations to come. That is how WinklerWald was born. We found this delightful cabin in 2021 and began renovating it. We all had a job...Julie did all the design work, Mike oversaw all the construction. We all pitched in with painting-lots of painting! Everyone, even the kids helped in the making of WinklerWald!

WinklerWald is a charming log cabin surrounded by nature but near the city with a wide variety of options for entertainment and dining.
