Alliance Youthful Chamber Orchestra

A string orchestra with players of all ages & varied skill levels from various geographic areas.(Stark, Carroll, Summit, Portage, Mahoning Counties)

The Alliance Youthful Chamber Orchestra was created by Xirlita Oliveira and the late Betty Onyett, in the fall of 1992 originally as the Youth Chamber Orchestra. As it has evolved into a more dynamic organization with its identity rooted in Alliance, Ohio, the name has changed to the Alliance Youthful Chamber Orchestra, or AYCO. The orchestra is composed of musicians with varied skill levels and

from geographic areas. The group is open to elementary through high school ages and adults who play violin, viola, cello, and string bass. The repertoire ranges from Classical to Movie Themes and Broadway melodies. Orchestra goals are:
Enjoyment of playing together
An introduction to fine music
An ensemble experience
Musical guidance in an environment that is relaxed and non-competitive.

Fall Rehearsal begins Saturday, September 14, 2024 at 10:00 am. All string players are welcome and encouraged to join us! The concert will be Sunday, November 24, 2024. All at First Baptist Church of Alliance 1659 West State Street.

Okay folks. Planning on restarting rehearsals Saturday, January 20th at 10:00 a.m. at first Baptist Church of alliance 1659 West State Street. If you can play violin, viola, cello or base, we'd love to have you. Everyone is welcome. No audition necessary.

Although we're taking a break over the holidays, we anticipate starting rehearsals again in January 2024. If you are interested in participating or know someone who might be interested, please have them contact us. We are always looking for more players. Our music selections are generally at a level 2-2.5 so if you haven't "played in years" or are a youth interested in additional ensemble playing, we'd be happy to have you! Merry Christmas and Best Wishes for 2024!

Rehearsals for our Fall Season began today. We can still welcome string players so if you're interested either PM me or show up next Saturday, September 30 at 9:45 am at the First Baptist Church of Alliance @ 1659 W. State St. and keep in mind we take players of all ages and abilities.

Heading to Summer's wind down means The Alliance Youthful Chamber Orchestra is gearing up!! Fall Season rehearsals begin Saturday, September 16 from 10:00 a-12:00p at the First Baptist Church of Alliance. 1659 W. State Street. All string players are welcome. Welcome to the AYCO page! The orchestra is taking the summer off and will resume rehearsals in September. We will have rehearsals from 9:45 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church 1659 W. State St. Alliance. and our concert will be in November.
If you are interested in joining please pm me or call 330.257.2440 for additional information.
We DO NOT require an audition. If you play a violin, viola, cello or bass and are interested in playing in an ensemble with no stress but lots of encouragement and a few giggles along the way, we are the group for you. We play a variety of styles generally at a level 2 - 3 so nothing real hard but sometimes a little challenging. "Play what you can, count and come back in when you can."

Reminder.....Fall session begins on September 10 every Saturday morning rehearsals from 10:00am- 12:00pm at First Baptist Church 1659 West State St. Alliance
Concert will be Sunday, November 20, 2022 at 3:00pm at the church.
All string players of any level and aha are warmly invited to join us. $20.00 registration with family discounts for more than one per family.

Hey Alliance, Minerva, Salem, Louisville, Atwater, Canton, North Canton and all surrounding areas - The Alliance Youthful Chamber Orchestra is BACK IN THE SWING OF THINGS!!
We will begin rehearsals on Saturday, September 11, 2021, from 9:45 am - 12:00 pm at the First Baptist Church of Alliance (1659 W. State Street) across from the Giant Eagle & next to Dairy Queen.
Rehearsals will be every Saturday through November 20, 2021 and our Concert will be on Sunday, November 21, 2021, at 3:00 p.m.
We are honoring social distancing during rehearsals and strongly recommending masks (we don't play horns so that's not an issue).
Anyone who has played a violin, viola, cello or bass viol is welcome to join us regardless of your age, skill level, or length of time since you played. We play for enjoyment and encouragement. All are welcome. Spread the word and invite folks you know.
