-MIRRORED MORNING-
Here is one more shot of Tuesdays incredible sunrise over Alton Bay, New Hampshire. After taking several photos in Woodmans Cove just before sunrise, I traveled a little more south and stopped at Lakehurst Cottages and waited a few minutes for the sun to grace its presence. The clouds were amazing and Lake Winnipesaukee was so calm, it made for the perfect mirror. As I’m sure you know, I do love sunbursts, and this one was the cherry on top. I moved myself and equipment a few times to try and position the square floating dock in the center. That’s not a real Loon, resting on the dock, although it would’ve been awesome if it was! I actually thought there was an island out there in the middle but looking at a map I realized it was echo point.

I will be at the gallery this week, Thursday and Friday and then I will be set up at the Mills Falls Castleberry Arts and Crafts Festival on Saturday and Sunday. My wonderful wife will take over the gallery on Saturday, but we will be closed on Sunday.

-DOCKED AND LOADED-
What a smoke show it was this morning!!! I was just telling someone the other day that we haven’t had a super vibrant sunrise in a few months, but this morning, mother nature decided to smack me in the face! I could see it was going to be a good one as soon as I was coming down my hill in Alton Bay, New Hampshire. I stopped off at the Lakehurst Cottages because they have amazing views from the north, east and south and I had no idea which Way the colors were going to spread. I chose this dock to use for my foreground. Normally I like to do a little bit of a longer exposure, but there was a floating dock that kept bouncing around from the wind and I wanted to make sure that I had it in focus so I chose a faster shutter speed. The foliage seems to be coming in nicely from across the bay. Hope you enjoy!

We just had a cancellation for Labor Day Weekend! Cottage # 3. Two people. $250 per night plus 8.5% state tax. Grab it fast before someone else does!

UPDATE: We filled Sat and Sunday night. This same cottage is open Wed, Thurs, Friday evening Aug 28th, 29th, 30th. One bedroom. 2 people.
