Hi folks,
So sorry to be so long getting back to you! As I I'm sure you can tell this is an automatic reply to your inquiry. I have not yet seen your request for information about staying at Sunny Slope Farm because I don't go on Facebook very much anymore since I was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease in 2016 and I'm afraid I get lost in the digital world now...
Which will perhaps explain why we are not doing vacation rentals or weddings at Sunny Slope Farm anymore, (or actually even since 2016!).
I guess I'm going to have to figure out soon (finally! A mere 7 years later!) how to update this page to let folks know that we are no longer welcoming guests. Hopefully this post will accomplish that! Thank you, though for your kind inquiry about staying at Sunny Slope. It makes me sad not to be able to share the farm with folks anymore!

Please support this bill, if for no other reason then that it is the right thing the only thing to do for our children and for our planet's future ~ even if it required great sacrifices on our part... happily, not only does it not require great sacrifices on our part but it actually makes our lives better and easier right now!

Of these chairs could tell a story......so many hours of time spent with friends and family relaxing together, playing games, watching movies, even a few skits and dances (mostly performed by or for children.) The Farm is a great place to gather.

First you select the tree, Then you cut it down and I get over to the mill where you make it into slabs. Some of those become cutting boards, showing off the natural beauty of the grain. Lots of sanding, oiling, and beeswax in later, you’ve got something that’s a pleasure to use. They’ll be for sale this summer at the Chilmark flea and at the Featherstone flea. DM if you want us to save you one.

Reflections in the wood room window of the barn and stable. Some of the old milk bottles Anna (gramma) collected. She was an artist and saw potentials for making in everything.

This kitchen window geranium has been going for at least 15 years. Long and lanky, it looks scrawny but it’s wicked hearty.

Max and Zac have been making some really pleasing cutting boards taken from slabs they milled on our portable sawmill. The grain is near mystical with all its variations in pattern and color, and the shapes follow what the trees had to offer up. They’re finished with a blend of food grade mineral oil and bees wax. Such a pleasure to use for cutting or serving. They’ll be ready for market soon! No two alike 😊

When Kate came to visit she was loading firewood into the bulkhead within hours of her arrival. It’s always so great when friends come and take part in life on our farm.

Burning up the twigs and shaggy bark from that Ash we had to take down by the orchard wall, enjoying the warmth of the early spring sunshine.

This little well house sits right in the middle of the hayfield, halfway up the hill. A big Ash tree had to come down by the orchard wall. That’s why all the tractor marks in the snow. And the smoke. That’s from burning the little Twiggy stuff in the fire pit up behind the barn. So nice to stand out by the fire.
