Heads-up as we go into the weekend: We will see wind, strong at times, and rain, heavy at times, on Friday in Anaheim.
The unusual weather is from remnants of Tropical Storm Kay, which made its way over Baja California and is breaking down as it moves north.
From about 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., we will see wind from the east as the storm moves through our eastern mountains, mimicking the feel of a Santa Ana wind.
Winds will start to shift with expected rain starting as early as 3 p.m. Into the evening, the storm’s eastern wind will give way to southwest winds.
That pattern will carry into Saturday with cloudy skies and rain clearing.
Throughout it all, it will be warm and muggy, though cooler than the blistering heat of the past week.
Plan for wind and rain and watch for roadway debris, any downed branches or trees, street water buildup and other storm impacts.
Should you ever see a downed power line, do not approach and call (714) 765-3300 or 911 if an emergency.
Anaheim Fire & Rescue, Anaheim Police, Public Works and Anaheim Public Utilities are ready to respond to any incidents that may happen day or night.
Thanks for being weather alert and ready!
