The 7 Summits Club guide Artem Rostovtsev reports from Papua, Irian Jaya Province, Indonesia:

Hello, 7 Summits Club! The entire 7 Summits Club expedition team to Carstensz Pyramid has gathered at the base (also known as the assault) camp and is listening to the raindrops. The participants and the guide, who arrived yesterday, decided not to waste time and set out towards the summit at night. We walked along the rocky slopes for a long time, practiced many different interesting movements. And we reached the summit. We got partially wet. Now it's the turn of the second half of the team, we plan to set out at three in the morning.

Summit! The 7 Summits Club group "7+7" has successfully climbed Mount Kilimanjaro. And Alex Abramov did it as part of his hunger challenge
http://7summitsclub.com/news/all/item_18344/

All 14 members of the 7 Summits Club group "7+7" climbed the highest peak in Africa today, Uhuru Peak in the Kilimanjaro massif. After days of bad weather, the ascent path was covered in snow, which of course slowed down, but did not stop our climbers. Alex Abramov kept his promise not to eat solid food during the entire ascent. There is a record fasting ascent! A Russian record for sure! And it seems he did not do it alone, one of the participants supported him. We are waiting for news about the descent!

As for the hunger climb - it continues. It is going well. At night we are going to climb and then descend. I think we will ascend and take off. I looked at the progress of things. I decided that I will fast for 10 days.

The second group of the 7 Summits Club to the Carstensz Pyramid has started the program, part of the group is already in the base camp
http://7summitsclub.com/news/all/item_18340/

The guide of the 7 Summits Club Artem Rostovtsev reports from Papua, Irian Jaya province of Indonesia:

Hello, 7 Summits Club! This is the island of New Guinea. We have started our second expedition to the Carstensz Pyramid mountain, we have returned after a 5-year break. Nothing has changed on the mountains, the weather is mostly rainy.

Yesterday the whole group arrived in Timika. We got ready, weighed ourselves so that the helicopter pilots would not worry about our carrying capacity. At the gala dinner, we invited the local commander-in-chief to take a photo with us. He was also solemnly greeted in the morning at the airport, then it was impossible to approach him. But at the hotel he was happy to approach us.

The morning helicopter flights to the mountain, unfortunately, were interrupted due to bad weather. More precisely, the typical here humid-cloudy-rainy weather. Only part of the team reached the base camp. And held the first training sessions. I hope to reunite tomorrow morning.

Today the "7+7" team (7 boys and 7 girls) spent half a day resting in the Horombo camp. We walked in the rain to Zebra Rocks. In general, the weather is rainy. But they promise an improvement for the ascent.

About the hunger climb. Everything is great. Lots of strength. Several guys have already decided to fast with me today. So others will get more food.

About the hunger climb. I have not eaten for two days. And it is okay. I do not feel like eating. My head is working. I have a lot of strength. It seems that people do not need to eat at all. It is just a bad habit ....

The President of the 7 Summits Club, the group guide Alex Abramov reports from Tanzania:

Today, the 7 Summits Club team on Kilimanjaro called "7+7", in the rain, but cheerfully, climbed to the Mandara Hut camp, at an altitude of 2800 meters. This morning, representatives of the Maasai tribe came to congratulate our girls on March 8. They gave them flowers and jewelry. And then there was dancing. And they even showed how they can make a fire.

Alex Abramov decided to conduct an experiment while climbing Kilimanjaro. To climb hungry, without eating for all 7 days. Follow the experiment. I will only drink water and tea. Place your bets. Will I be able to climb.

There was a celebratory cake in the evening!

The 7 Summits Club group was airlifted to Carstensz Base Camp and is preparing to storm the summit
http://7summitsclub.com/news/all/item_18320/

March 4. Hello everyone from Papua! Today, our team of 8 people went to the airport in the morning in the hope of flying to Carstensz Base Camp. We weighed ourselves and the loads in advance - it turned out to be just under 800 kg. A helicopter was sent from Nabira especially for us, which takes 800 kg. But when we had already started loading, the pilot said that he was ready to take only 700 kg. We had to draw lots to decide who to leave. And throw out some of the load. In the end, I was left. With the hope of flying out tomorrow too.

In 25 minutes, our entire group (7 people) under the leadership of Artem Rostovtsev successfully landed in the area of the Base Camp (4200 m), where our camp had already been set up in advance with large sleeping tents and a special recently brought cabin from Red Fox (Team Fox). After resting, the members went on an acclimatization rotation. They trained to work on ropes. An assault on the summit is scheduled for tomorrow morning. We are keeping our fingers crossed for our first group on Carstensz!

Summit! The 7 Summits Club group "Alpacas" successfully climbed the summit of the Chachani volcano in Peru
http://7summitsclub.com/news/all/item_18319/

The 7 Summits Club President Alexander Abramov reports from Peru:

The ascent of Chachani was a success! Yesterday our Alpacas team climbed to the top of the Chachani volcano, 6070m high. 11 participants reached the highest point. Three participants did not reach the top, but were satisfied. For most of them, it was their first six-thousander in their lives.

The condition of the route and the weather could have been better. We climbed through wet snow, which lay in a 10 cm layer on the ice, on the descent it began to snow, turning into rain.

But we did it. Hooray!

The 7 Summits Club group members arrived in Papua, in the city of Timika, and hope to fly to the Carstensz Pyramid base camp soon
http://7summitsclub.com/news/all/item_18318/

March 3-4. Hello everyone from Papua! It is a province in Indonesia on the island of New Guinea.

On March 3, all the participants of the expedition to Carstensz arrived! Artem and I met them at the airport. They were put up in a hotel, their gear was checked, and they were allowed to sleep a little after a long two-day flight. We weighed ourselves and our gear. In the evening, we arranged a short excursion with a visit to souvenir shops and beautiful places. We had a festive dinner at our favorite restaurant Rimba Papua, surrounded by greenery and fountains.

We met several groups, including those who returned from Carstensz. And some have been waiting for the flight down the mountain for two weeks already. The information about our flight has changed several times. However, as of this morning (March 4), there is a chance to fly as planned. In 2-3 hours it will be clear.

Keep your fingers crossed for us!

The 7 Summits Club Alpacas group moved first to Arequipa and then to the Chachani base camp
http://7summitsclub.com/news/all/item_18316/

Hello from Peru to everyone from the Alpacas team! Yesterday we left our cozy city of Cusco and flew to Arequipa, where our adventures continue!
This morning we visited the main local attraction - the Santa Catalina Monastery. This monastery, founded in 1579 and located in the city center, is one of the best examples of colonial architecture in Arequipa. It is built from white ash mined from the Chachani volcano and pink ash mined from the Misti volcano.
Then we walked around the center of Arequipa and had lunch in a cozy restaurant overlooking the main square of the city. It is very cozy, very tasty and very colorful here! We never tire of admiring this hospitable country!
And after lunch we went to the base camp of the Chachani volcano, located at an altitude of 4900. Now we will have dinner and discuss the plan for the assault. At night we go to the mountain. Tomorrow is the key day of our trip! Wish us luck, amigos!

March 2. Hello everyone from Papua! This is a province of Indonesia on the island of New Guinea. From two guides of the upcoming expedition of the 7 Summits Club to the Carstensz Pyramid. Having flown out on the last day of winter, we arrived on the second largest island in the world (New Guinea) only on March 2.

It is green, hot and humid here. Several groups have gathered in the city of Timika, waiting to be dropped off by helicopter at Carstensz Base Camp, right at an altitude of 4,200 meters. We met groups of Adventure Consultants (New Zealand), Mountain Trip (Alaska), a group from the Czech Republic... Everyone wants to climb the mountain. Of course - the mountain has been closed for climbing for almost 6 years! Unfortunately, the news from the mountain is sad - just yesterday a group of Indonesians got caught in bad weather, two died, three were rescued and lowered to the camp from the ridge with hypothermia.

Tomorrow our group arrives. We meet them and work according to plan. We will try to fly under the mountain.

Summit! Sveta Kotlyar with local guides climbed to the summit of Maria Peak to assess the nature of the route at this time of year
http://7summitsclub.com/news/all/item_18314/

While the Alpacas team was walking past the "seven lakes" to the hot springs, Sveta Kotlyar went to climb Maria Peak with local guides. We decided to establish for ourselves the seasonality of ascents to this peak, which is included in our programs in Peru.

We left the camp at 4600 at 3.00 in the morning and reached the pass at 5200 in 4 hours. The whole morning there were simply gorgeous views and a cloudless sky! On the way, we met three vicunas descending the slope.

At the pass, we dropped off unnecessary things and began to climb the ridge. Already in the first hour of the ascent, it became clear that in this wet season there is a lot of snow on the mountain. We had to trek knee-deep, and in some places waist-deep, which increased the planned time for the ascent by an hour. We were at the top at 11:20, Alex Abramov turned on “Coco jambo” on the radio, we danced a victory dance at the top and ran down.

The 7 Summits Club group enters the autumn month of March with a new name “Alpacas”, adventures in Peru continue
http://7summitsclub.com/news/all/item_18313/

President of the 7 Summits Club Alexander Abramov reports from Peru:

With the approach of the new month, March, the group, which was called “Februaryists”, decided to change its name. Now we are “Alpacas”. Today our team spent the night in a gorgeous place surrounded by snowy mountains. It was raining. But that didn’t stop us. The tents are new and hold up well to the rain. The food is good. We have Starlink Mini Internet with us. Everyone is happy. We passed the 5100 Pass. We bathed in hot springs. And now we are already in Cusco celebrating the halfway point of the expedition. Tomorrow we fly south to the city of Arequipa. And from there is an exit to storm the Chachani volcano, 6200 meters high.

Hola amigos! The «Februaryists» team spent another wonderful and adventurous day in Peru! Today we went to the Rainbow Mountains, which are located 100 km from Cusco. The weather was quite cloudy, it was drizzling, but this did not stop us from riding quad bikes with the wind in our hair.
We reached 4900, from there we walked to the top of Mount Vinicunca (5036 m). For two members of our large team, this is the first summit!
During the ascent, the clouds dispersed, and we saw the Rainbow Mountains in all their glory!

The «Februaryists» team visited Machu Picchu - the pearl of Peru, the ancient city of the mystical Inca civilization! In the morning we woke up in a hotel in the town of Aguas Calientes on the banks of the Urubamba River and then went to the entrance to Machu Picchu.
Everyone was delighted! The scale of the city is impressive. It is not surprising that this is the most visited Peruvian attraction, one of the «new wonders of the world»!
