Join us for a talk and tasting with Bernardo Conticelli and Kristie Brablec, the managing partner of Zingerman’s Food Tours. We will taste Champagne, make and nosh on pizza.

Bernardo has been working as a local guide with Zingerman’s food Tours since 2014. He’s worked with Kristie in Tuscany, Piedmont, Italy along with Champagne and Jura France. This trip to Ann Arbor has been 8 years in the making and we finally have him here. If you’ve been on a tour come and say hi and if not come and have some fun with us at the Bakehouse over Pizza and Champagne

“Why do I travel? I travel to learn, to understand. I love history and read a great of it. But travel to a place where that history occurred and you have a new sense of it. How far, how high, where history stood.

When we visit a producer on a tour your senses light up with all that makes up the flavor, that imbues the essence of the food before you. The taste of the air. The aroma of the buildings. The feel of the water. The sound of the table as the food is presented. The sight of the producer’s passion.

Meet the guides! 📍Hi! I’m Kristie, managing partner and lead guide for many of our tours including Paris & Champagne, Hungary, Jura and several others. I think of myself as a conductor and I take this job very seriously. As the conductor, my role is to get out of the way. I want to make sure the spotlight is on the producers and region allowing the stories and traditions to make up the symphony. It’s a great honor to celebrate the farmers and artisans of the world.

Come visit Tuscany and Emilia Romagna the Zingerman’s way. We’ll go behind the scenes and visit traditional small producers of some of the region’s finest foods – from the massive wheels of Parmigiano-Reggiano, to the beautiful, small bottles of real balsamic vinegar, from Chianti Classico wines and artisanal olive oil to the melt-in-your-mouth prosciutto crudo. And we’ll roll up our sleeves and enjoy Tuscan cooking lessons in a 15th century villa in the rolling hills outside of Florence. Together with Peggy Markel's Culinary Adventures long-time fellow culinary adventurer and food guide, we will experience the wonderful food, culture, and landscape of Tuscany.
