As we all are very well aware, Anna Maria Island has been devastated by back to back hurricanes. There are no accommodations for our usual tourism industry that many of us make our livings with. Like so many others, my income is no longer existent. In an effort to generate revenue, I’m offering a $200 discount to anyone wanting to book a charter or a gift certificate for a future trip from now until December 1st. 🌴 Hurricane Recovery Update: Community First, Safety Always 🌴

For the most up-to-date information on Anna Maria Island’s recovery, including property statuses, what’s open, and how you can support us, please visit our dedicated Hurricane Recovery Page at www.onceuponabeachami.com. We’re committed to keeping you informed every step of the way as our beautiful island recovers.

Our team has been working around the clock to assess and clean up each property. Here’s where we stand:

• Many of our elevated homes, built with hurricane resilience in mind, experienced only minimal flooding in garages or lower levels. Restoration will be quicker here.
• However, our ground-level homes were hit harder, and we’re fully committed to proper, professional restoration, including replacing drywall, furniture, and more, with every health and safety guideline followed.
• We have cancelled and refunded all reservations through November 15th. Beyond that date, our standard cancellation policy will apply, and we’ll personally reach out if your stay is impacted.

The Island Is Recovering, Too!
Our island is coming back to life, and some businesses, restaurants, and beaches have already reopened. Most of our beautiful beaches are accessible, although some areas, like Coquina and Cortez, are still undergoing work. And yes, the entire island is NOT washed away or uninhabitable, contrary to some reports. We are making rapid progress, and you’ll see honest updates on our Facebook and Instagram accounts.

Tonight (10/24/24) is the final night for the business and property owner checkpoint for entry into Holmes Beach! After tomorrow (10/25/24) morning at 6 AM, the checkpoint will be demobilized and the curfew will be officially lifted.

As we watch Anna Maria Island recover and rebuild, it’s impossible not to feel deeply the personal nature of this journey. For so many of us, this island isn’t just where we live or work—it’s home. Our children, displaced from their beloved Anna Maria Elementary, are continuing to show us resilience in action. We are incredibly thankful for the warm welcome and support we’ve received from Stewart Elementary during this time of transition.

At Once Upon A Beach, our number one goal as a business has always been to create a space that our guests have come to love, where their families can make cherished memories in this paradise. But as members of this incredible community, our mission goes beyond that. We’re committed to ensuring that this island continues to be the home our children know and love—a place where they grow up surrounded by beauty, safety, and a sense of belonging.

A special thank you goes out to the hardworking Anna Maria Elementary staff & PTO, whose tireless efforts are paving the way for a brighter tomorrow for our kids.
