Good weather is still hanging on in Wisconsin to Bike! Registration is now open for the Northern Woods and Waters Tour, August 16-22, 2025. We had a great 2024 season. One of the comments from Dan: "My first bike tour and I couldn't have asked for more. Mary Jo and Joe and all the staff were the nicest people, worked so hard to make sure we had a fun and safe trip. Roads were beautiful and scenic, the routing was great, and the accommodations and food were too . Hope to come back again."

The Manitowish Waters Bike Trail is a portion of the 52-mile Heart of Vilas County Bike Trail System – a trail system featuring modern trailheads and access to beaches, restaurants, shops, and other attractions. 🚴‍♀️

Begin at the Manitowish Waters Community Center trailhead on U.S. Hwy. 51 and Airport Road, with a playground, restrooms, and water. Head north through the trees and along the Manitowish River to Mercer. Or, pedal 1.2 miles to County Hwy. W, continue past Koller Park, the downtown business district, North Lakeland Discovery Center, and Rest Lake Park. From there, the bike trail goes east as it shadows County Hwy. K, passing Serbin Park – a trailhead with parking, a restroom, and access to Rest Lake.

The Rice Creek trailhead, located halfway to Boulder Junction on Newcomb Lane, offers a restroom, picnic tables, and a picturesque bridge spanning Rice Creek. It is approximately 16 miles to Boulder Junction.

Parking is available at the Discovery Center, Rest Lake Park, Koller Park, downtown M.W. or at the Community Center.

Who we are

Welcome to the new “Around Wisconsin Bicycle Tours”. We are Mary Jo and Joe, the new owners. Pat and Ken the previous owners created unforgettable experiences for their many customers over the last several years. We will carry out this long term tradition. Our family has resided in Northern Wisconsin for the past 35 years and is very familiar with the back roads and the many amenities available in small towns in Wisconsin. As well we have lived in Southeast and West Central Wisconsin which allowed us to log thousands of miles in every corner of Wisconsin. Being long term cyclists, we have ridden in many day and multiday bicycle tours. Twice we participated on the Northern Woods and Water tour and as well on the Flavors tour so we know the tours well. Why should you care? Because after years of being the tour customer, we know what makes or breaks a great bicycle vacation, and we are putting our experience to work for you to create a fun, unforgettable trip!

We are a proud member of the Bicycle Tour Network, Adventure Cycling Association, People for Bikes, Wisconsin Bicycle Federation and our local bike club, Antigo Bike and Ski Club.
