Had a good day working on the new cabin. Also got a little fishing in and spotted some animals. Windows tomorrow!!! Can’t wait for the view out of the biggggg south windows.

Had a couple good days of progress. Good helpers make fast work. Excited for this studio cabin, with big vaulted ceilings and covered porch.

I think we need to name one Cumbres. Cumbres Cabins is located within minutes of several hiking trails. We enjoy hiking, fishing, and hunting with our llamas. 🦙 We added some new ones (7) this week. Getting ready for summer.

A new storm system will begin moving into western Colorado tonight, spreading snow into the mountains along the Continental Divide. The snow will spread east across the mountains on Wednesday and into the the adjacent plains by Wednesday evening. Travel will likely be impacted across the high country and along the Interstate 25 corridor. Persons planning travel in this area should remain weather alert. Visit www.weather.gov/pub for the latest forecasts, warnings and advisories. For road conditions, visit cotrip.org.

Heavy wind driven snow will spread into the Continental Divide late tonight through Tuesday. Snowfall amounts of 1 to 2 feet with considerable blowing and drifting snow will result in hazardous travel conditions, especially over the mountain passes! If you must travel over Wolf Creek or Monarch Pass during this time frame, monitor the forecasts and road conditions closely, and carry along a winter survival kit.

Flushing toilet

What a flushing toilet. Getting so close to being finished.

Playing with the drone today, and of course Jessica helped with the video. All of this can been seen from the front porch. What a location, getting closer to renting every day.

If you haven’t taken your Fall drive to the mountains, you better get started. Trees are turning and the hills are glowing. I really enjoy my drive to work on the cabin these days.

And just like that we have water. 💦

Finally got some siding in. My big helpers started sports this week so Jessica stepped in today to run the backhoe for me. I like the siding, goes up pretty fast and hopefully last forever.
