Today we hit our "dry dig" pit-- we say it loosely because it's now with water from our last Tropical Storm-- and it's been a pleasure finding Peace River fossils, sifting in river water, while in a private dig hole!

We're the only company running as of now and it's been a ton of fun being able to make things work for everyone all summer. Granted-it's hot-its muddy-its hard work-but we are finding good stuff!

So the plan remains...we will keep on goin' with it for the duration of the summer ☀️ ... so if you've booked the airboat, FYI ...that's your destination til the river drops or the creeks become available 😉 🦈 🦈

🚨 2025 FRE SCHEDULING NOW OPEN 🚨

Hey FRE fans and friends! While we await the river dropping, we decided that we are going to open our regular season opportunities starting on December 1st, 2024 through May of 2025. This allows those who plan on traveling down here or those locals who want a fun dry season experience (the best time) to get in now and avoid losing a shot altogether when the slots fill...and they sure do! Our advice-plan now!!

✨️ Here's the low down:

🦈 Every Saturday and Sunday we are still offering our airboat fossil hunts for the public rate of 150$. These have a max of 18 slots a day and are now open and available to book from now until May 31st of 2025.

🦈 Every Friday, Saturday and Sunday we are offering our swamp buggy creek tours for the same exact rate of 150$ a person. These are shorter in time but are more physically demanding than the airboat experiences. The limit here is 9 slots.

🦈 Private airboat and buggy tours are still available from Monday through Thursday and also will be opened from Dec 1 onwards.

🦈 Our Premium Digs will be added in with availability as they come, but remain closed for now. This is the usual format and is all based on current levels, spots and how good the hunting is.

🦈 Our fan fav Ice Age Digs are available to book from Dec 1 onwards each Wednesday and Friday.

🦈 Our dry digs remain available now and every Wednesday onwards. It's also our summer airboat and buggy go-to if we can't dig a water spot.

Hope everyone fared well in Debby 🌀

Other than a dramatic 6 foot rise in the river, our dry dig remains functional with the hope of our summertime hidden creek dig returning in a short while!

Next week looks PRIME for our Swamp Buggy Sadari...aka our hidden creek dig...we opened seats the next TWO FRIDAYS in anticipation! Grab em up, we have only 7 seats on each day available.

As for this week...
We have seats available Friday for our swamp buggy to dry dig (which will likely still have some standing water in it...makes for EASY sifting) if you'd like a shot at post-storm goodies!

In addition we have some room on our airboat fossil dig on Sunday which we hope to run as well to the best available areas we have.

With a possible tropical storm/ big rise coming this weekend, it may be the end of the regular dig season in the river for a bit. Of course we always have options here, including some high water creeks and dry digs, so worry not..just wanted y'all to get in there while ya can!

This fossil deserves its own post. Yesterday we unearthed this EXTREMELY RARE jaguar canine tooth! A bucket list find for any Florida fossiler, this specimen was indeed a bit worn but its nearly all there! The giveth once again 🔥

The Pleistocene jaguars of North America were much larger than those living today in Central and South America, and for that reason are sometimes placed in the extinct subspecies Panthera onca augusta. This fossil is likely anywhere from 500000 to 100000 years old.
