It was wonderful to have some many people attend our first Chamber Luncheon after taking a couple of months off this summer. We appreciate everyone who came and also the Tumbleweed Inn, our host, who is a great supporter of the Chamber.
We had a full agenda starting with Denise Rogers,
Superintendent at Toltec School District. Denise spoke regarding the upcoming Bond Election for the Toltec Elementary School.
Next, we had a candidate forum for all of the Legislative 16 Candidates running for the State House of Representatives, Keith Seaman, Teresa Martinez and Chris Lopez. Our moderator was Donovan Kramer Jr., Co-Publisher and Managing Editor of the Casa Grande Valley Newspapers, Inc. There were many issues covered which prompted lively discussions.
Once again, thank you to all of our guest speakers and to all who came.

July 29th was an exciting and special day for Arizona City and After The One Church. The After The One Christian Academy had their Grand Opening and Ribbon Cutting which was attended by the parents, teachers, and people from the community. The Arizona City Fire District was there with hand outs and hats for all to add to the fun. In addition, The Arizona City Chamber of Commerce was also there. The event culminated with a Ribbon Cutting.

This is an important addition to Arizona City and families..

As usual Filiberto's did a fantastic job of providing us with a terrific lunch and having everything set up for us, Thank You. Bev Polmanteer stepped in to run the luncheon and did a great job. Thank you to Richard Rosales with APS. Richard was our guest speaker and was fabulous. He had lots to talk about on saving money, their energy sources and how that works, plus all the services they offer, and then took questions. Thank you APS and Richard Rosales.

We hope everyone has a Safe and Happy 4th of July and we will see you again in September.

We had a fantastic turn out at our May Luncheon and we would like to thank all the members and non members that attended, we hope you join us at future events. In addition, Thank You to The Tumbleweed Inn, they did a fantastic job and to our 3 Candidates running for Sheriff, Charles Austin, Patrick Melvin and Ross Teeple. Donavan Kramer Jr. did a great job as moderator, we appreciate your willingness to take on a tough task. Many questions were asked and answered, it was a excellent opportunity to for all of us to meet and learn about our candidates.

Next we had a Live Auction on the Diamond back Tickets donated by APS. Unfortunately I don't have the name of the winner but we were able to raise and donate $450 to the playground that the Arizona City First Baptist Church has untaken building for the Arizona City children and residents. Last but not least, we had some fabulous raffle prizes, Thank You All, we couldn't do it without you.

It was a very well attended Ribbon Cutting at our newest addition to Arizona City "The Xpress Car Wash". Owner/Developer Morris Mennanga along with his family cut the ribbon and in addition, donated to two different Food Banks in Arizona City as they like to give back to the Community. County Supervisor Jeff McClure was in attendance along with Chamber Board members and many others.

Thank you Linda Metz, our Arizona City Chamber President, for putting together another informative and enlightening seminar. There is a new law in effect called The Transparency Act of 2021 and if you are a small business owner this was essential and terrific information. This is the second presentation by Kevin Connors, the Director at Central Arizona College Small Business Development Center, and he is an excellent speaker. If you have any questions, Kevin's contact info is on here. Thank you to everyone who came including District 4 Supervisor, Jeff McClure, and his District 4 Administrator, Trecia Koozer, we all learned a lot. They also are having a Business Lending event out at the college, flyer is included. We have great resources available to us that many of us are unaware of.

If you have not checked the Arizona City Chamber of Commerce website lately, please do. Linda has done a tremendous job since taking office and is making things happen. See everyone at our May 15th Luncheon, more info coming next week.

A Huge Thank You to everyone today who came to our Luncheon, to our Guest Speaker, Mayor Micah Powell, and to the Tumbleweed Inn that did a terrific job of hosting it with excellent service, food and support, we appreciate all of you.

Mayor Powell brought a large map and discussed the future plans for Sunland Gin and I-10 plus answered a variety of other questions. It was noted that Arizona City is experiencing rapid growth and changes are on the way although they will take time. All in all it was positive news for our town and our area.

Chief Heaton gave us an update on the upcoming Water Days coming up this summer for the kids along with they will be having their July 3rd Fireworks once again at the Golf Course.
