We began our day in Princeton, Kentucky touring the Adsmore Museum. The Victorian home and everything inside belonged to the wealthy Smith-Garrett family. We had a delicious lunch at Adams Breezy Hill Farm in Princeton before traveling on to the Golden Pond Visitors Center in the Land Between the Lakes National Recreation Area. We drove through the Elk and Bison Prairie nearby. Dinner was at the Wake Club at the Lighthouse Landing Marina in Grand Rivers. We ended our day at the Badgett Playhouse with a Down Home Country Christmas show.

Welcome to Western Kentucky! We spent our day exploring Paducah! Our first stop was at the Inland Waterways Museum, learning about the history and importance of the Ohio River to the area. Our guide, Jim McIlroy, led us on a tour of the Flood Wall Murals- wonderful paintings of the history and important events of Paducah. We also visited the National Quilt Museum to see the exquisite quilt creations.

Before leaving Vermont, we stopped at Quechee Gorge. It is the deepest gorge in the state, measuring 165 feet deep. Then Hello New Hampshire! We stopped for lunch in Meredith, then took a chilly but beautiful cruise on Squam Lake. Squam Lake was the setting for the movie, On Golden Pond. We rounded out our day on the Winnipesaukee Scenic Railroad, enjoying a turkey dinner and Lake Winnipesaukee.

We saw some beautiful fall colors as we traveled from Cooperstown to Killington, Vermont. Before arriving at the Killington Grand Hotel, we had lunch at the Waybury Inn in Middlebury. The Waybury Inn was used for the exterior scenes of the Bob Newhart Show (it was painted white for the TV show). After lunch we saw the Pulp Mill Covered Bridge and we made a stop at Danforth Pewter to see artisans at work. Our last stop was the Blue Ledge Farm to see their goat dairy farm and taste some artisan cheeses.
