TRAFFIC ALERT - POLICE UNITY TOUR COMING THROUGH YORKTOWN TOMORROW

Tomorrow, May 10th, law enforcement from all over the country will ride bicycles and motorcycles through York County. They are starting in Norfolk tomorrow morning and traveling to the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial in Washington, D.C. This year’s group consists of 100 riders, 30 motorcycle officers, and 60+ support units. The tour will pass through York County, ride on Route 17/George Washington Memorial Highway, and go to the Yorktown Beach area. They plan to pass through York County between 10 a.m. and noon.

Deputy First Class Matt Singleton, Investigator Corbin Armstrong, and Lt. Donald Micket will ride their bicycles on the tour. Lt. Jeff Charville will be on his motorcycle, and Lt. Damon Radcliffe, Retired Lt. Brian Eckstein, and Investigator David Shafer will be providing support. York County, Virginia

We are so pleased to have found the local artists for some of the framed photography we have in the cottages. We found “J. Fripp” (Jean) after a little social media search.

She dropped off 2 more pieces today, “The Blacksmith’s Fire” & “Call to Muster.”

Archie Fripp, also a photographer, came along. We quickly discovered one of his works in a cottage, as well!

“A Window in Another Time” won, over a kitchen wall cabinet, in this little cottage!

We love their close up imagery showcasing the beauty in the simple things.
