Received roaring applause and a standing ovation immediately after she was appointed, 5-0 by the board of supervisors, to be the new sheriff of Calaveras County. The meeting room was packed for the transition of leadership. 8/13/24

August 9th, 2024, was Sheriff Rick DiBasilio’s last day in office. The Calaveras County Board of Supervisors’ meeting is on Tuesday, Aug. 13. Until then, Undersheriff Rachelle Whiting is waiting on the appointment process.

Hermitfest West 2024
MomComing Saturday, September 7, 2024 – Updates!

The Ebbetts Pass Scenic Byway Association will be back in Bear Valley on Saturday, September 7th, with our Annual Hermitfest West celebration. We’ll have all-day music, vendors, kids’ activities, and more from Noon-7pm. Weather allowing, we’ll offer star-gazing and a late-night jam session on Saturday evening as well as Sunday morning acoustic music and Yoga with Alex for those who choose to stay overnight.

Those who would like to join us as vendors may download the 2024 Vendor Application right here. We have limited space and are striving for a good mix of vendors who are a good fit for this venue and event, so please send your application with photos for review prior to sending in your check and other documents.

Those interested in financially supporting the event may download a Sponsorship Form here. We couldn’t do this without the generous contributions of local businesses, organizations, and individuals, whose donations support the event and the Byway Association year-round.

We’ll have a volunteer sign-up link here when the event gets closer.

We can’t wait to see you in September.
