How are we feeling?

While solo travel may not have been affected by unassigned seating, my family is happy to have the option to pick our seats to guarantee we are together, all while still saving on baggage fees!

Southwest Airlines announced this morning that they will be getting rid of their famous open seating and moving to assigned seats like most other major airlines. This new policy will begin in February 2025.

This decision comes after they reported 80 percent of customers prefer assigned seats. We are big fans of this change and love avoiding the stresses of open seating.
