About 30 minutes west of Leavenworth WA in the Wenatchee National Forest of the Cascade Mountains, is a great hiking trail called the Icicle Gorge Trail. This is an easy 5 mile loop. This trail had amazing water views, gentle terrain, towering ponderosa pines, and fun bridges to cross making this a memorable hike for the whole family. We took a bit longer on this trail because I just couldn’t stop taking pictures!

Leavenworth, Washington is a cute little Bavarian style town filled with food, drinks and shopping! We spent about 24 hours here which was just about enough for us! You definitely need to book your hotel stay about a year out for the busy summer period.

Day 2 of Mt. Rainier included another hidden gem in the form of the Moraine Trail. We only saw 2 other people and 2 park rangers for the entire time we were there, which was quite a while since we ate lunch on the trail. Sooooo pretty and peaceful!! We also visited Narada Falls and Myrtle Falls. Such a busy day! And we got to see Hoary Marmot!

Take the road less traveled! Some of the best hikes we did in the Paradise section of Rainier were the least used. The first one we did that was off the beaten path was the High Lakes Loop Trail. It did not disappoint! Beautiful views, well-maintained trails and very few people made it one of our favorites!

Last night my flight chased the sunset from DC to Seattle. It was so beautiful!

I know that normally on my business page I post a lot about theme park vacations. But I am also really passionate about hiking and just traveling in general. Over the next 9 days, Catie and I will be touring around in Washington. We’ll be hiking in Rainier National Park and Okanogan Wenatchee State Forest. We’ll be checking out the the little Bavarian town of Leavenworth and visiting Spokane. Follow along this week to see what we’re up to! ⛰️🥾

🧁We have a great view of the top of the new Bake My Day building in Minion Land which will be opening in Universal Studios in Orlando later this summer. This area will also include the new Villain-Con Minion Blast, Minion Cafe and Pop-a-Nana. From what I can see so far, it’s going to be awesome!!

✨✨Aventura Hotel!! This sleek modern resort definitely has more of an adult feel to it. I probably would stay here with older teens and young adults. There is also rooftop bar, Bar 17, that apparently has a spectacular views. I absolutely want to see the views for myself! Hopefully, either tonight or Thursday night I’ll get the time to go up there. 🤞🤞✨✨

✨Cabana Bay Beach Resort!! This place is soooooo cute!!! It has an amazing 1950’s retro vibe. Can I just stay here forever?? And did you know that when you purchase a refillable mug that you not only get water, soda, coffee and iced tea, but you also get refillable Icee!! So perfect on a day like today!!✨

Disney will be debuting new character greetings this spring!! We will have Moana at Animal Kingdom’s Discovery Island, Figment at Epcot’s Imagination Pavilion and finally Mirabel at Magic Kingdom’s Fairytale Garden! Such great photo opportunities! Epcot will also be hosting the Disney100 celebration this year which means that they will have some of our favorite characters dressed in their new platinum clothing for meet and greets. But my favorite bit of news is that Disney has announced a NEW nighttime show over the World Showcase Lagoon in EPCOT that will “unite us through the commonalities of the heart”!! There will be new fireworks, lasers, music and light! I am so excited about this!! In addition to all of this great news, Tron will be opening up on April 4th!! There is just so much to be excited for this Spring!

🦋🌻🌷The Epcot International Flower & Garden Festival began yesterday! Aren’t all of these topiaries amazing?? Not only do we have these wonderful topiaries, but there are wonderful outdoor kitchens, merchandise and fun activities for the kids! This is seriously fun for the whole family! Our kids always loved the butterfly area where they could get up close and personal with the butterflies. Did you know that there is an app for the food at the festival? Definitely check out the WDW Food&Wine app so you can plan on what you foods you want to try!

✨WOW! Disney has put the GRAND back in in the Grand Floridian! A fellow travel agent was able to stay in one of these newly renovated rooms the other night and shared his beautiful photos of the remodel. Aren’t these rooms gorgeous? I am not going to lie; I’ve always said that the theming of the Grand Floridian wasn’t something that I was personally excited about. However, these renovated rooms with the subtle Mary Poppins theming have absolutely changed my mind! I love the changes!

Here are some of the highlights of the changes in the rooms.

*raised beds for storage

*hard floors with an area rug

*much better lighting in all areas

*Mary Poppins theming

*USB-A and USB-C outlets

*rainfall shower head and detachable wand

My understanding is that only a couple of buildings have been completely renovated, so it will be a while before all the rooms at the Grand Floridian are completely refurbished. I believe Disney is hoping to have them done by the holidays this year. It definitely looks like they will be worth the wait! How amazing would it be to stay at the Grand Floridian, in a newly renovated room with the resort decorated for the holiday??If you haven’t seen the Grand Floridian’s life sized gingerbread house, you are in for a treat!
