We are unsure about the future of Asheville Adventure Company - but we are sure about the love that our employees have for this river and her people. It’s going to be a long journey to help the French Broad River recover. Yesterday was just the start.

Oh folks - this one hurts. We knew on the morning of September 27th that this high water event was going to be different. We quickly realized not only was it going to be different - but it was going to be like nothing we had ever seen before. Our beloved river outpost, raft barn and bike shop were all completely destroyed by the floodwaters of Helene. The Outpost and raft barn had stood for close to 28 years, both built using materials cut and crafted on the property. One of a kind. Unique. Original. Just like Asheville Adventure Company itself. Just like our people!

We are lucky! All of our employees and their families are safe! Our homes, our pets - all good. But this is just the beginning to the next chapter and the path is not yet clear. What we do KNOW is that we have the most amazing, talented and genuine employees! We want to help take care of them and support them in this time of crisis. We ask that you please consider donating to our Asheville Adventure Company Employees GoFundMe. All funds will go directly to our employees and their families.

The answer is “We continue taking care of our rivers!”

Thank you for pulling SIXTEEN tires out of the French Broad River today! Low water can show us how our beautiful river has been mistreated in the past. It’s our job to rectify that problem.

Several of our guides had the opportunity to attend a Swiftwater Rescue course this weekend along Section 9 of the French Broad! Many of these guides pushed themselves, and they were able to spend some time taking in the beautiful scenery.

We can’t offer enough thanks to our GM for teaching this class and making it so accessible!

All Forward! A glimpse of our Section 9 paddle trip. Be prepared for splashes! We go through class 2 and 3 rapids on section 9 of the French Broad River, as well as plenty of flat, calm sections. It's a great mix of river features, and even includes a big rock to jump off. We take all ages and skill sets, kids over 50lbs.
