Never know who you will bump into out here. I have to say,sharing a hammock with a tree frog is not something I was prepared for. Little guy looked pretty happy just chilling and enjoying the sunshine.

The lower riverside camp site is really benefiting from the sunshine and warmer temps. The grass is growing fast,the ferns are getting taller and the salmon berries are starting to come out. What a beautiful weekend!

4:50 pm Friday 1/12/24 Current conditions at the Cabin. 18° zero wind and a little over 2’ of snow on the ground. Been a wild week out here. Blizzard warnings,heaviest snowfall I’ve ever experienced. 45mph winds,trees blowing over,branches breaking under the weight of the snow and several tree related power outages. Our generator at the cabin didn’t skip a beat and ensures our guests will not be affected at all. We have guests coming in on Sunday. Today was spent getting the place accessible by car. Got half of the driveway plowed/cleared of snow today. Tomorrow we will get the rest of the driveway and the parking area in front of the cabin cleared. Life on the mountain is always an adventure.

Happy 4th of July. Ahhh!! The sounds of freed….. nature? The birds,the ever present sound of the river and the mountain turning pink. This place is so calming to the soul. Have a safe night.

What an amazing day. Relaxing and enjoying the view. The river is up due to snow melt these last two days. The sound of the river combined with the birds is so peaceful.

First Morels of the season. 60’ from the front door to the cabin. Mushroom paradise out here. Absolutely love foraging for what nature provides us.

What a beautiful sunset last night. Sometimes we focus so much on what is in front of us that we don’t see,hear or experience the other things around us. The sound of the water traveling past,the snow capped peaks turning a pale pink,the reflection of those snow capped mountains in the pool of water slightly upstream. Stop,take a moment,relax,clear your mind,listen,look around and take it all in.
