As of 2025, all US citizens must have an Electronic Travel Authorization (ETA) to travel to certain destinations, including the United Kingdom (England, Scotland, Wales, or Northern Ireland) and Israel, even if you are just stopping there for a layover. Additional countries plan to implement this in the coming year. Very exciting news - Americans can now renew passports online! If you're an adult passport holder whose passport expired in the last 5 years or will expire within the coming year, you no longer have to go through the mail-in paper application process.
