A few weeks of cold, stormy weather has allowed Aspen Mountain and Snowmass to move up opening day, sparking excitement in local skiers and snowboarders itching to get on the mountain.

Attention Aspen skiers!!

It finally came. Time to book your ski trip to Aspen!!

How the fortunates of Aspen Highlands and Buttermilk changed overnight on Thursday. Thin snow cover pointed to a limited opening but the storm Thursday night will allow 430 acres to open Saturday at Aspen Highlands and 254 acres at Buttermilk.

It is still snowing in Aspen/Snowmass! This weekend Snowmass Mountain was over the top. With over 9 inches of fresh powder and 30 degree temps, the skiing is sublime. At least 6 runs of fresh tracks before your line was interrupted. The mountains are empty. We have more snow on the way! There is something to be said about skiing fresh powder, surrounded by white, looking down on a valley bursting in color, rebirth and renewal. Come finish out the ski season with us!!

The mountains win again!! Today, was sheer bliss with 7 inches of fresh, super light, fluffy powder and sunshine. Two feet of snow covered all four of our mountain peaks over the last week. Come ski and stay with us!!

In what was the biggest snow day of the season, thousands of people came out to the four Aspen resorts Thursday morning, especially with more than a foot reported at Aspen Mountain and Snowmass.

Aspen Mountain opened for the season on Wednesday, a day earlier than originally planned. Top-to-bottom snowmaking, a solid recent storm and well-behaved guests made for a great experience despite all of the extra precautions.
