We are so grateful to have come upon such a wonderful business as Airbnb. The company treats their people right. During this seemingly long Covid-19 pandemic situation, the Airbnb have been more than understanding and supportive of our customers and us. We have had to cancel thousands of dollars of business and it is so hard to say "no", we cannot host you after all." It is so hard on our customers; the people that need a place to stay, even for just a little while. People that have been planning their trips for so long, for just a chance to regroup and get a new perspective on life. That to me is healthy. I don't know of another place that is as beautiful and mesmerizing as the Oregon Coast for that type of renewal and refreshing. I so hope the City Council of Astoria sees the importance of it's people and small business owners and the importance of our tourist businesses before it's to late and I hope they soon let us all resume our businesses. I hope they themselves will be able to stop somewhere along their own way to stop and smell the Rose's (and an occasional whiff of our beautiful ocean and reflect what I'd really important in life.
Having said all of that I do understand the importance of our having to quarantine, but we are not stupid people and we can be considerate, clean, and take precautionary measures that prevent sickness and disease. Please let's move on!! Please, please, let us resume our businesses! Please let us take responsibility for our own lives and the lives of others instead of shutting us down and destroying our lives in another way. Let us resume our vital ways of making a living, let us set high standards but let us do it. It can happen. We can all work together and make this work and let us work, run our businesses be the great City and State and Nation that we are.
