Shirt Design Contest for Great Columbia Crossing

We are seeking artwork / graphic design to use in promotional materials for the Great Columbia Crossing 10K Run/Walk event. Each October, the Great Columbia Crossing attracts about 3,500 people to trek across the Astoria-Megler Bridge during this unique opportunity to walk/run across the bridge. We are hosting an open call to seek out T-shirt designs. In recent years, we have been offering a finisher's medal to every participant when they cross the finish line. Shirt design may be edited / reformatted to also be used for the medal.

Design submissions are due by 9 a.m. on Tuesday, May 14, 2024.

We have begun the process of creating a Strategic Plan to guide the next few years of the Lower Columbia Tourism Committee (LCTC). While the LCTC’s focus is on the visitor industry, we are undertaking this strategic planning process to better align our by-laws and mission to our committee members’ desire to provide regenerative, community-based long-term tourism goals and practices.
To facilitate the process, we have retained Whereabout, a destination strategy consulting firm. This 15-minute survey is their first step in collecting the information they need to assess our current state and prepare for an informed strategic planning process. We want to hear from key stakeholders who are part of our region's tourism industry and others who live in our region. We would appreciate you taking the time to answer these questions by April 24th:

Did you know that we have a wine competition for the wineries that attend the Astoria Warrenton Crab, Seafood & Wine Festival? Each year we invite professionals from the wine industry to judge submissions to award dozens of wines that are exceptional examples of their type.

The competition is a big undertaking and we need your help. Volunteers work alongside staff to ensure the day runs efficiently and we have a pretty good time while doing it, too.
On Saturday, March 16, we need volunteers:
From 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. we need:
• Opener - Use electric opener and organize/stage the wine (1)
• Pourer – Pour wine into glasses arranged by flight (1)
• Dishwasher – Use commercial dishwasher for wine glasses (1)
• Server – Carry trays of wine glasses for judges to/from setup area (2) (FILLED - thank you!)
**** The judging will likely end around 3 p.m., so your shift may end earlier than 4 p.m. ****
*
In the evening, we open the doors to the public at 5:30 p.m. to come taste wines that were a part of the competition. It is a great way to try new types of wine that you may not be familiar with, or to compare different vintages or winemakers method of the same wines. We have about 50 tickets available to attend. (Volunteers from the day get a free ticket!)
(We filled these two evening spots, too. Thank you!)
