an important note from Delta Vacations

To our Travel Advisors:

Thank you for your patience as we work through the disruption caused by a Global IT Outage on July 19, 2024, that affected Delta’s operation systemwide. We wanted to make sure that you have the most updated information on our travel waiver, which offers customers the ability to make a one-time change to their itinerary, or to cancel and receive a Delta Vacations travel certificate or request a refund for the unused portion of their Delta Vacations package, is in effect for customers with travel scheduled for July 19-28, 2024.

If the travel dates for your client's Delta Vacations package were within the impacted dates and you’d like to rebook their vacation, we’ve issued a temporary Global IT Outage travel waiver to allow customers to make a one-time change to their itinerary: the fare difference for customers will be waived when rebooked travel occurs on or before August 4, in the same cabin of service as originally booked.* Rebooking will be permitted only for the same hotel and room category. If your clients would prefer to cancel the unused portion of their Delta Vacations package (which includes a Delta-operated flight) for travel occurring during the impacted dates, please call 1-800-800-1504. For other inquiries, email [email protected] . Your customers may cancel the unused portion of the package and request either a Delta Vacations travel certificate for the value of the unused portion of the package or a refund to the original form of payment for the unused portion of the package.

As a reminder, Delta Vacations’ standard cancellation policy will apply for all packages with traveling occurring before July 19 or after July 28, 2024.

KNOW THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN UK, ENGLAND, GREAT BRITAIN.

Some people and indeed all over the world, including well travelled, often confuse England, United Kingdom and Great Britain.

England is a country just like Ghana and its capital is London just like Accra is the capital of Ghana.

Great Britain is a collection of 3 countries which came together as one country and has its capital as London. Those 3 countries are:

1. England,
2. Scotland
3. Wales.

When you include Northern Ireland to these 3 countries, they become United Kingdom (Union of four nations)

1. England,
2. Scotland,
3. Wales, and
4. Northern Ireland.

That is why it is referred to as the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.

Collectively, the four are taken as one country. And when this is the case, London is its capital.

Note however that these four individual nations all have their own respective capitals.

Accordingly, the capital of

Scotland is Edinburgh,
Wales is Cardiff;
Northern Ireland is Belfast.
England is London.

If you are booking your own trips. YOU ARE MISSING OUT! You are paying for the service of a travel agent and not using one!

A lot of people don’t know this, but airlines, hotels/vacation homes, trains, car and boat rentals, and cruise lines all build in the commission in their prices. Even concerts and sporting events have commission built into the ticket price.
