As an ex- expat, I’ve put a lot of thought into what it means to be American. The idea is always muddied by the complexity of America’s size and diversity - born and raised in Alabama, my American identity is rooted in warm hospitality, rich history, and a southern sweetness 🍉🎺⛱️

This, however, is only a small part of the puzzle, and my appreciation and understanding of the US grows each time I cross state lines. There is so much to experience... blessed with the ease of a smooth car ride or domestic flight.

A tale of thermal baths, fairytale castles, and cozy wine dens - thinking of Budapest today! 🏰

Split in half by the Danube, Buda brings the castle-studded hills and postcard views, while Pest keeps things lively with ruin bars, café culture, and some of Europe’s most stunning architecture. For E & M’s 10-year anniversary, they’re getting cozy with a winter trip to Germany!

This trip will be split into two destinations and vibes - first, they’ll go historical with a stay in Old Town Munich! Emily did the unthinkable and trekked the Salktantay Pass — 5 days spent gaining elevation, sleeping under the stars, passing by ruins, and marveling at Machu Piccu.

Post-trek, she was well deserving of some self-love and R&R at ‘s Premium property in Cusco.

The Caribbean coast of Costa Rica is not on the forefront of most travelers’ itineraries. I, however, am completely enamored by the region’s distinctly unique culture and personality. Here’s some reasons why you should consider visiting:
