Georgia-lensed "Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3" topped the box office during its worldwide premiere this weekend, once again shining a spotlight on the State of Georgia as a force in the entertainment industry.

Georgia has played a vital role in the "Guardians" trilogy filming since the beginning, creating opportunities for Georgia's entertainment industry and for the communities and businesses large and small that support it. "Guardians 3" wrapped production in Georgia in July 2022. Most of the filming took place at Trilith Studios, with other locations including the Senoia Raceway, Atlanta's Believe Music Hall, and private residences in Roswell and Hampton.

The Georgia film industry has also produced some of the most popular installments in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, including two of the six highest domestic-grossing movies of all time, "Avengers: Endgame" and "Black Panther."
