We're nearly there! Activity and plans and prepping for Dragon Con are in full swing & it's just as much beautiful chaos as always. :) So excited!
We don't have specific location information to share yet, but as always you can find all the amazing artists in the Dragon Con Art Show in the bottom floor of the Hyatt - the best 'hidden' oasis in the whole event.
Can't wait to see everyone at Geek Homecoming!!

**The Southeast's Largest Outdoor Art Gallery**

A while back, I was made aware that Atlanta's Midtown Alliance was working on a massive art project for the city & had an open call for local artists. I was immediately intrigued and knew I wanted to submit - the first hurdle was figuring out which pieces to send! (The maximum allowed was 5) ...

When the notice came in that FOUR of my pieces were selected for the project, I was floored! Absolutely blown away. Then it was a waiting game as we eagerly anticipated receiving the word that all the artists' pieces were up & ready - and our embargoed information could be shared. Seemed to take forever!!

Thankfully the day arrived when we received maps, locations, and the go-ahead to spread the word. So G & I went on a 'treasure' hunt throughout Midtown Atlanta in search of the banners in the wild.

It was hot. OMG it was hot. I ended up looking like a frazzled swamp-witch ... which, ok, isn't really that far off. BUT STILL. We had a blast, despite the heat, odd looks from passers-by, and illegal parking while we made precision strikes on each location.

If you're around Midtown, take some time to wander & see these banners. So many different styles & visions. We saw some amazing ones!

As always, my biggest thanks go to G Russell Gaynor for being my constant cheerleader & butt-kicker - both of which I need! - and an absolutely invaluable second pair of eyes while I'm running a session.

Other noteworthy shout-outs go to my two models: Chandler Steele Portier (Unzipped) & Caleb Austin Jordan (Battleworn) for being truly amazing & willing to let me 'use' them for my craziness. Y'all rock!

It has been brought to my attention that I have been woefully negligent in sharing my work. I will try to be better! :)

In that effort - a somewhat recent addition to the 'catalog'... cover art & design for 'The Vigilium' an absolutely stellar book from the lovely Cassandra Drake. Book One of 'Tarot Hunters', this novel is an absolute joy & should not be missed!

Throughout the Ages, devices have mysteriously appeared on Earth. Objects which bridge man to the cosmos and all its wonders. However, such power must be protected, lest it be foolishly applied and therefore wasted. That is the unfortunate story of the last Artifact, which was not protected and is now gone; destroyed by misuse and short-sightedness.

Partially to blame for that misadventure, and looking to redeem themselves, are The Vigilium – a secret society of magically-endowed members dedicated to the protection of man and the responsible use of the Artifacts. They know the next Artifact is coming, and they have chosen one of their best to lead the effort to procure and protect the device…

We've had the most amazing weekend at Chattacon! It's always a great time up here in Chattanooga, spending time with friends and con-family.

I'm absolutely honored to also be bringing home not one, but two awards! 'The Summoning' was selected in the Fantasy category, and 'Atlantis' in Science-Fiction.

We'll be heading back home tomorrow exhausted, invigorated, and full of love. Thank you to everyone who makes this weekend possible!!

Now that Dragon Con is winding down I can share my new pieces & make an official announcement:
SylverLight has started a Tarot Deck!

The whole project will take quite a while, and we're considering a few options for how to move forward, but it has begun! 💖

A special thank you to the amazing Marilyn Chen of Liquid Sky who was up for humoring my crazy & went over and above in fabulousness for the Hanged Man card. And G Russell Gaynor who is always the support & push I need to make it happen.

It has been a whirlwind weekend at Dragon Con - always such a joy to see my massive extended family at 'geek homecoming'.

And I was blown away at the announcement that the acrylic piece of 'Crossroads Inn' was selected for Best Photography & Digital Art!!

Absolutely honored to be among the brilliant artists who won all the categories this year. Dragon Con is the best!

As Promised: Announcement #2!

2023 is starting off like gangbusters! ... I’m thrilled to announce that my piece ‘Nature’s Cathedral’ has been selected for inclusion in this year's JordanCon Anthology: The Leaf Does No Harm. The anthology features cover art from Artist Guest of Honor Omar Rayyan and includes short stories and artwork from some amazingly talented people - several of whom I'm lucky enough to call friend.

Two announcements need to be made... And I'm woefully behind on both. 🥺

First up, this past weekend was Chattacon - From the tireless work of the staff (thanks for putting up with me, Ann!) to the inspiring offerings from the guests of honor, this one was a good time all around. I had the opportunity to try some new things, meet new people, drool over new art... Generally just make a nuisance of myself!!

And then, it was Saturday night - and I got word that I had been awarded not one, but TWO blue ribbons in the Art Show. Floored does not begin to convey how I felt (still feel!!). 'Arballia' was selected in the Sci-fi category, and 'The Summoning' in Fantasy. I'm so honored & humbled, and beyond thrilled that my work has been able to connect with others.

Leia Powell - thank you for the repeated noodges to get my butt up to TN. You were right. 😜 ... And as always, G - my rock - none of it happens without you.

And a special, heartfelt thanks to the entire ChattaCon family who made me feel so welcome & to my extended con-family... You know who you are. 🥰

Learned a new technique, and I'm so in love y'all better be expecting to see more of these! ... But it seemed only appropriate, with the attention 'Ascension' got at , that it should be the first up.
