Today is Owain Glyndŵr Day, commemorating the start of his revolt on September 16, 1400. Glyndŵr claimed the title Prince of Wales, established a Welsh parliament at Machynlleth, and led a decade-long rebellion against English rule. Learn more about him in the comments. Popped into the local cheese shop today on a meander through Porthaethwy/Menai Bridge on Anglesey. Was immediately seduced by the lush lemon poppyseed cake, had lunch in their sweetly serene dining space (pictured as is today’s special menu), and picked up some cheese, biscuits(crackers to most of us), and carried home leftovers. The shop is absolutely grand, with a wide array of Welsh (and other countries) cheeses, artisan biscuits, local preserves and pastes, Spanish charcuterie, fresh bread, craft beers, and interesting wines. It’s refreshing to see new (they’ve been here awhile really) shops opening in town.

Popped into in Menai Bridge today on a meander through town. Was totally seduced by the gorgeous lemon poppyseed cake, and ordered lunch with 2 cappuccinos. I had today’s special salad and soup listed on the small menu. Sharing their larger menu as well. It’s wonderful to see “new” shops popping up around town. They carry the most amazing Welsh (and other countries) cheeses, along with craft beers, lovely wines, crackers, Spanish charcuterie, local honeys and preserves and more.

As much as our founder loves Wales and considers it her special heaven, she wants to empower people to embark on travel that will reawaken their lives, offer authentic and transformative experiences, and more!

In 2024, we'll be offering some small group travel experiences to various places in the UK and expect to expand to additional locations in Europe in the next few years.

What a difference the sun makes. And being around people you connect with and care about. Beaumaris on Anglesey, North Wales - with this last weekend and alone today. It’s a great town with so much history, fascinating people, and engaging activities.
