Very thankful for good friends, good hunting and good duck weather this past year. Also, a very understanding wife who lets me get away with being selfish.

Vida saw more birds last fall in Canada in 6 days than she’d seen her whole life. Consistently breaking ice and snow here in NC, and still didn’t miss a beat. Now with a baby girl due in April, she won’t be my little girl anymore (that’s a lie). Crazy how time flies. She’s always been my best friend, and might not be perfect but training her myself from 6 weeks old and hunting/guiding these past 7 seasons with her have been awesome. I pray God lets her see at least 7 more

Great time offshore today mentoring our future generation of fishermen! Fishing wasn’t on fire, but they did an awesome job weathering that NE wind and were worn out.

Last picture is of a jon boat that was washed away during last week’s storm. Called it into Coast Guard and later learned that it had drifted all the way from a house in Ocracoke to 15 miles offshore of Beaufort Inlet. Wish I had the gear to snag it on my way back home…
