Have you ever wanted to try ice fishing?

Join a park ranger guide on Fridays and Sundays from 10 a.m. to noon at Sprague Lake now through March 21. Learn about ice fishing and see if you can catch a trout. All fishing equipment is provided.

Participants are encouraged to dress in warm layers. Waterproof boots and traction devices are advised. A Colorado fishing license is required for those 16 years of age and up.

This program is free. A park entrance fee or annual/lifetime park entrance pass is required to enter Rocky Mountain National Park.

Another round of trout are in!!! 🐠🐟🎣

Yesterday, we received a 5,000 lb stock of rainbow trout at Cleghorn beach! With how popular the lake has been this trout season, we wanted to remind of visitors of some essential rules and tips for your next fishing trip.

💳 License Required: A valid California Fishing is required to fish at Silverwood Lake for anglers 16 and over. Fishing licenses can be purchased online at wildlife.ca.gov, at local sporting goods stores, or at the Silverwood Lake Marina store.

🍺 Alcohol Prohibited: Alcohol is prohibited in all Day Use areas. To avoid possible citation or ejection from the park, pack sober.

🎣 Fish your limit: Each angler is allowed to keep up to 5 trout with no size limit. Don’t poach, fish your limit.

With the cool wintertime temps, remember to pack a hot drink, bundle up, and enjoy the beauty of the lake!
