When we hear those familiar words, “support local” the truth is that many of us don’t necessarily gravitate towards the importance of supporting our local tourism attractions and/or businesses, but the truth is they are just as important as any other local business that needs YOUR support. I’m often quoted as saying that one of the best (and seemingly untapped) resources we have to increase tourism right here in Augusta is YOU the ‘Hometown Tourist!’ If we are doing our part to get out and explore, experience, and support our local attractions, events, tours, etc. for ourselves, then we can become the best ambassadors for our city by enthusiastically sharing with visiting family and friends the many things for them to experience firsthand!

As an award-winning local tour guide and operator of Augusta Adventures Tours & Events, my target audience/niche has always been our hometown tourists with an effort to curate FUN and creative tour experiences that are both educational and entertaining and, in the process, not only help to create a stronger appreciation for the amazing history of Downtown Augusta but also to humbly contribute to the support and expansion of a stronger tourism community for our area.
