On James Joyce birthday, we like to remember that Sylvia Beach, founder of legendary bookstore Shakespeare & Co, was also the first publisher of Joyce’s novel Ulysses. Photo taken in 1921 in the library’s first location at 8, rue Dupuytren in Paris.
