Tom and Debbie Conyers have extensive knowledge and experienc
e in developing residential and commercial architectural projects in the Rocky Mountains and Central Texas. With a strong background in designing and developing custom homes, they established relationships with the many building entities essential to creating a successful project. Taking advantage of technology, and resources of suppliers and consultants, the architecture firms are able to focus on their commitment to originality of design and quality of the building process while also building strong client relationships. Tom holds a Bachelor of Architecture degree from the University of Texas at Austin and is a registered architect in the states of Colorado, Texas, and Illinois, and a member of The American Institute of Architects, A.I.A. and the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards, NCARB. Debbie holds a Bachelor of Science in Education from the University of Texas at Austin. Together they have two sons. As a family, they enjoy spending time outdoors and traveling. Did you know that maintaining the historic alley character is critical to Telluride’s architectural and historical makeup? We have one of the most distinctive alley scenes in the nation, which provides unique scale and texture to our town.
This year, we are celebrating Telluride's 60th anniversary as a designated National Historic Landmark District! In 1973, the Historic & Architectural Review Commission (HARC) was established to preserve this distinguished designation. Join us for a free HARC Tour this Friday, July 9 at 10am (upcoming tours also scheduled for August 13 & Sept. 10, 2021). These walking tours will explore Telluride architecture and built environment highlighting which buildings have been preserved and how Telluride retains its charming character.

18 March 2021. Progress on Historic Residential in Telluride, Colorado. We met this homeowner/builder in 1994, when we first moved to Telluride. Lots of projects later and he still runs on full energy. This historic home has a fun story, originally built around 1901 for the Backman family from Finland. They had three sons, Mr. B worked as a “Janitor-Stamp Mill”, they kept cows and sold milk, and Mrs. B took in laundry. Descendents owned the home until 1978. The restoration design passed through HARC (Historic and Architectural Review Commission) in one meeting in January, and today, it is being moved to a temporary parking spot to get a new foundation poured. ✍️:

31 December 2020. Our top 9 favorites on Instagram this year. We’re not posting for the number of likes but to show friends our progress and inspiration for the future. But, lots of thanks for the love and support. Our plans for 2021 include completion of our biggest Austin project, begin construction on the remodel in Chicago, start design on a California remodel, and many new projects in Telluride, Colorado. We are grateful for being able to continue to grow our family business and be creative and enjoy working with amazing clients and craftspeople. Cheers to 2021 and continued health and prosperity!

14 August 2020. Favorite Throwback. Another favorite front door in Telluride Mountain Village Colorado. #2004. This Mountain Craftsman still gets lots of attention today, custom designed by with stain glass side lights and hand crafted fir wood door. Fir timbers can be counted as a favorite too.

Electricians working on site this week with lots of decorative lighting figures arriving. Along with drawings of plans and elevations of interior spaces, we put together schedules to ease organization, track budget cost, and make easy changes. 9 July 2020. Making our way, driving through Austin today. First, shopping for a fireplace unit, in Texas in July. 😳 Then, through UT campus. 🤣 So many closed, boarded up, graffitied businesses in Austin. 💔 Stopping at a job site in Zilker, still working on a foundation.
