Our resident green Sea Turtle in Lover's Cove. Water temps still in the low 70's. Come on out and enjoy this beautiful weather. Video credit to Robert Reyes with our Intova HD camera. We may be adding these to our rental program next summer.
We've been busy paddling these astounding days of late January- early February! These are the days of flat water, sunny days and tons of bait fish with attendant sea lions & dolphins, cormorants by the hundreds, and bald eagles fishing off our coast (just to name a few). Come check it out for yourselves, we're open everyday at 9am.

There's been a sea lion convention here, come out and experience the frolic!
Tremendous sea lion activity right IN and around Avalon Harbor! For the past couple weeks and continuing right now, the squid are here - bringing in birds by the thousands and sea lions of all sizes. Come over and check this amazing activity out... any day you'll see RAFTS of sea lions resting on the surface with their flippers out of the water, with bursts of feeding on the tons of squid. Salps and other jellies abound, and in the deeper waters schools of smaller sunfish are traveling & feasting on the squid. Check out this video taken from our kayaks last week by one of our Guides, Scott, using his iPhone. Come out and see for yourself!
