π΅ "Shot through the television, and you're to blame
Darling, you give renters a bad name..." π΅
We recently had a less-than-stellar experience with a renter that reminded us of the Bon Jovi hit. Our latest renter, Casey Button, and her family initially seemed responsible when they called to report a broken TV. Accidents happen, and we appreciate their willingness to take responsibility. π
But then... the cleaning crew showed up. π¬
For those who don't know, most homes in the Outer Banks have the same cleaning crew week in and week out. They know these homes better than anyone. After speaking with our crew, the reports were alarming. The house was left in a complete mess: no trash was removed, dirty dishes were everywhere, and furniture was rearranged and had to be moved back into place. While frustrating, we thought we could manage.
Oh, but it got worse. π‘
Our home is a pet-free zone due to family and renter allergies. Casey and her family brought dogs with them, ignoring our no-pet policy. The cleaning crew found pet hair, urine that needed steam cleaning, dog slobber on sliding glass doors, and deep scratches on the bathroom floors and tubs. To top it all off, the television wasn't just brokenβit was punctured, possibly by a stick or sword. π€―
Casey Button would be a one-star renter if renters could get ratings like homes. βοΈ
Let's all strive to be better renters and respect the homes we stay in! π β¨
