Hatteras Island and the Outer Banks are a special place. Just a few friendly reminders for when on the island:

⚓️ Please stay off the dunes. These protect the homes during the storms. Plus their are some island wildlife that make these dunes their home that you'd rather not meet.
🌞 Please make sure the garbage cans are out the night before your scheduled pick up. In Avon it's Tuesday and Friday which means they pick up right after midnight to avoid the heat and traffic. Please place garbage in trash bags as "Rocky the Racoon" will pay you a visit.
🦀 Please turn off your exterior and interior lights when not needed. This prevents light pollution and for all to enjoy the stars at night. Plus these lights affect the sea turtle hatchling and attract bugs to your home.
🎆 NO fireworks. Wooden homes, fire, and wind are not a good combination.
🐟 Please keep doors and windows closed. This will keep homes cool/warm and not introduce bugs (especially our little brown friends) to the houses.
🦞 Please follow speed limits. They are highly checked by both the sheriff's department and state police. This is to protect pedestrians and you don't want a speeding ticket as a souvenir of your trip.
🐢 Kindly fill in all holes when leaving beach. This allows nesting turtles, beach goers, and emergency services easy access to the beach. No large holes as we don't want a tragedy.
🐕 Please pick up after dogs. Let's keep the OBX clean.
🐚 When looking for shells please take a second bag for any trash washed up on beaches. This is appreciated by all.
⛺️ Please haul in and haul out any beach canopies daily. Excellent job being done by all, as the availability of easy set up and removal shelters are now available.

Carolina Kids OBX is a vacation rental home - available weekly during the summer and long stay available during off season. Home has a view of the ocean from the 2nd floor, and views of the ocean and sound can be seen in the tower. Easy beach access.

Home is strictly drug free and smoking is not permitted inside or outside the home. Driveway for 2- 3 cars only. No Trailers, RV, Boats, Golf Carts, etc. Carolina Kids sleeps 8 people.

New 12 X 25 salt water heated pool, 6 person hot tub, granite counter top in the Kitchen, new coastal decor. New stove and new mattress', area rug added. New Dishwasher, New lockout storage which includes beach chairs, beach carts, boogie boards, and coolers for guest to use. Kitchen includes a waffle maker, crock pot, Griddle,Regular Coffee Pot, and Keruig and several dishes for the Tiki Bar. Kitchen also has stock pots for seafood. We just added a Vintage air popcorn maker. A Multi Arcade game has been added for that rainy beach day. Pendant Lights for the Tiki bar. New Roku Smart TV’s for all bedrooms, new granite vanity for the bathroom. New Poly Furniture for the Pool Area. In August we re- did our driveway with new stones. New Outdoor furniture for the tower deck. We continue to do upgrades to make Carolina Kids the perfect vacation home for all to enjoy!!!!! This is our second home and we want you to feel like it is your second home.

***Our home can only sleep 8 people. We only rent to family groups that are 25 years or old. Our driveway has parking for 2-3 vehicles only. Trailer, RV, Campers, Boats, or Golf Carts are not allowed on our property. Golf Carts are not allowed on Wahoo Circle. Dare County has fines for anyone caught not obeying the laws. Since our home is very close to the beach we ask that spot lights are not left on all night, it confuses the nesting Sea Turtles. Hatteras Island has an amazing night sky help us keep the light pollution down. Please be respective of our neighbors.
