Downtown Avondale Estates Master Plan 2014

The City is in the process of kicking off an update to the 2004 original Downtown Master Plan. The 2004 LCI Study crafted a community vision for revitalizing and redeveloping Avondale Estates’s historic core, focused on building a mixed-use downtown featuring restored historic buildings and a range of retail, employment, and open space in a network of streets, greenways, and sidewalks. This update

will build from the successful foundation of the 2004 study, and, based on market realities, develop an action plan that emphasizes housing options, connections, economic viability and coordination among many key partners, ensuring that the Downtown area retains its desirability for residents of all ages. The LCI study is seeking a refined, inspiring, and grounded vision for Avondale Estates that, importantly, will include implementable actions in the areas of land use, mobility, and economic development.
