Herrick's Ocean Cottages

Always mixed emotions closing the cottages down for the winter, today particularly because the weather was amazing and there were great finds on the beach.

We are taking 2025 reservations with openings in the ocean front cottages as well as the one across the street (and hesitate to say “across the street” as it is still very close and has all the perks of the front ones at less cost). Please reach out for more information!

This is what renting our cottages provide-a quiet beach to read, watching boats and yachts go by, Rock-sea glass-sea shell hunting with the only noise of lapping waves and birds singing!

Looking for a last minute staycation? We have a few weeks available at 19 Cedar Beach Road. Weeks of 8/10 and 8/31. Also a few in September-some say September is even better than summer!? This beautiful spot can fit 1 family or multiple.

Phew last week has to be the last pesky snowstorm as we are ready to open the cottages! It’s going to be an amazing summer!

We have some storm damage to take care of and also have some plans to brighten up the outdoor space particularly at 19 Cedar Beach Road (pics to come in a few weeks!).

We have a few weeks left of the summer to fill, please reach out fast before they get scooped up! We look forward to seeing all our past and new visitors!

Good morning from The Bailey Island Bridge, aka "The Cribstone Bridge." The sun is rising behind me and the moon is setting in front of me, right behind Cook's Lobster Ale House on Bailey Island, Maine.
It's a super chilly morning as you can see by the icicles on the boat, but so worth it to get up early and experience and capture the Full Snow Moon as it fades and lowers into the daylight. 🥶🌞🌝
A fun fact: This full moon will be the smallest of 2024 as it approaches its farthest point in its orbit which is know as apogee.
