Trail Trees 🌲

Native American Trail trees, fact or fiction. What do you reckon?

Are these mother nature creations, or modified markers left by the indigenous peoples? We found a couple of these at our Hidden Treasure camp [3rd photo], and we also know that Glen Isle in Bailey was a Ute encampment hosting some wild tree sculptures!

Some believe that some wisdom lives in these trail trees; also called as 'marker, prayer, bent trees' are living landmarks shaped by Native Americans to guide journeys through forests. These bent trees, often pointing toward water sources, shelter, or other significant locations, are a testament to the incredible connection between Indigenous peoples and the nature. Next time you're in the woods, keep an eye out .. butt don't trip.

Thought it was all Opera House & Sydney Harbor Bridge..

Did you know, Australia gets more snow coverage than Switzerland? [An unfact checked trivial statement from the Tally-Ho papers. hahah] Don't expect anything close to steep & deep fresh powder chowder every day of the season, but yes! It has snow and it is approved for stand sledding. And to boot, most these photos here are from the Southern Hemisphere summer

CO Hut Trips - 12 out 10 can recommend.

This non-traditional & sloppy adventure was from a year ago last spring, just finally getting through some photos.. The charge was lead by our trusted dingo sisters and An 8 hour up-hill effort finally found our hut off the very old & interesting Smugglers Road [real name, not an actual road.] To our luck, the 2 night tenants in the Fabi Hut next door to us, were full Local Lords from Woody Creek [the longtime hometown to Hunter S. Thompson] just the next village from Aspen. Our joint celebrations lead to the roof of the Fritz Benedict Hut and a proper sunset boogie disco dance.

Although the hike in ruined all of our ideas of big mountain snowboard lines, the outhouse & cabin goodtimes was worth the trek in alone!
