Because of COVID-19, our guest hosting business is shut down and we have shifted to being an intentional community. Sacred Groves is a place to deepen your relationship with Mother Earth and your personal spirituality, a place for ceremony and a sense of connection. Women’s Mysteries School events are for women only. Sacred Groves is not affiliated with any particular religion. The events here inc

lude elements of ritual from earth-based spiritual traditions in North America, Africa and pre-Christian Europe. They have also been inspired by mentors like Sobonfu Some, Joanna Macy, Starhawk, our relationship with Mother Earth, and co-creative experiences in drumming and ritual groups for the past three decades. We welcome people of all cultures and creed who share our beliefs that the earth is sacred and that music, dance, prayer, ceremony, and time in the natural world are essential for personal and community health. However, because this is a private residence, we ask guests to RSVP for events and/or call in advance for an appointment or tour. Events at Sacred Groves are most often facilitated by owner-director Therese Charvet, co-hosted with her partner Tere Carranza, who contributes her warm heart, logistical support, and tasty cooking. Therese’s leadership and ceremonial skills have been shaped by years in midwifery organizations and other women’s groups, her Buddhist meditation practice, training in Compassionate Listening, all grounded by her deep connection with the land at Sacred Groves where she has lived for 36 years.

CELEBRATING THE MIDWIVES ALLIANCE of NORTH AMERICA: In early March the remaining board members of MANA put out a brief letter on the MANA page stating that MANA is officially sunsetting. The celebration of MANA that is to be held on Sunday the 7th was born of that letter.
Founders and MANA lovers around the country came together as friends of MANA in grief for what was passing and in solidarity around a desire to honor the legacy that was and is MANA. By the 17th of March there was a post on the MANA page about this upcoming celebration.
This is not a MANA production, as MANA itself is coming to an end, but a beauty-filled remembrance of the history and an honoring of all that the organization has done over the past 42 years. It has been put together with love and gratitude. We hope you will join us on Sunday. REGISTER HERE: https://zoom.us/web.../register/WN_8lmHoIeWS5y-PuyHbTVF1A...

Are you feeling the call…
To move to land and live in community?
To live as a village and cultivate a way of being in good relations with ourselves, each other, and the natural world?
To live an alternative lifestyle that strives to be earth-honoring and sustainable, where relational care is valued, and where we dedicate energy to strengthening our resilience as individuals and as a group?

The Sacred Groves community is looking for cultural creatives, imaginative dreamers, and hands-on doers who are ready to answer that call!

This land, a ten-acre forest sanctuary and small intentional community on Bainbridge Island (only a half-hour ferry ride from downtown Seattle), has been a gathering space over the past 20 years for countless rituals, nature-based ceremonies, healing work and retreats that have supported deep reconnection with our bodies, ancestors, with community, and with the natural world all around us.

And as of January 2024 we have openings for new residents! Learn more here—
