Last week, we were delighted to welcome back Marc Englert, Owner of FLOREP, and Juan Luis Martinez, CEO & Co-Founder of Caliplant. Juan has been a tremendous support with our plant health/fertigation since the implementation of our water treatment system and his expertise and insights have proven invaluable. The two met with our VP of Operations, Adam Lovgren; Farming Director, Abel Martinez; and Horticulturist, Linsi Gutierrez to further discuss and explore innovative strategies to enhance our callus management, potting techniques, and field preparation practices. As we enter the growing season, we are filled with optimism for our ongoing collaboration and partnerships as we continue elevating our viticulture practices to new heights.

Sunridge Nurseries 2025 production season has begun! We’re excited to start off at Giumarra Vineyards cutting for our newest partner Grapa. We’ve seen massive demand for this program so are preparing to fill the needs of our customers in CA and around the globe. We appreciate the opportunity to work closely with the Giumarra & Karniel families to help expand this program.

Earlier this month Sunridge Nurseries was happy to host Gary and Julie Andriske from Andriske Research / Vineyards in Australia. James Rawlins, The Grape Dr., also joined as he helped introduce the Andriske breeding program to the US. Sunridge is happy to be the exclusive nursery for North America to help this emerging program expand. Here we see some of the newest varieties released from FPS UC Davis that we are mist-propagating for our mother block.

Jack of all trades, Mark Giganti from 61 Vineyard in Damascus, Maryland expanded his estate during the 2024 seasons with Chardonnay, Blaufrankisch and Tannat, just to mention a few. After a pleasant tour of the vineyard, winery and tasting room, we are anxious for the release of the Albarino we tasted at the tank!

Last week, Regional Sales Manager, Dave Haggmark at the annual Sustainable Ag Expo. With over 500 attendees this year, a great show to reconnect and also meet new faces; an event we look forward to supporting each year.

Patrick Young from Woodbine Vineyards in Virginia showed us the Petit Manseng vines planted this spring. Fall has been warm along the East Coast, the day of our visit the temperature was almost 70 degrees!

This month, our VP of Operations, Adam Lovgren, teamed up alongside Regional Sales Manager, Sebastian Traviesa, in Oregon to visit vineyards and connect with clients. Over the course of three days, Adam and Sebastian were pleased to witness successful take rates in challenging vineyard locations.

Last week, the Fresh Produce Association of the Americas (FPAA) held their annual SWIPE Conference and Trade Show in Tucson, Arizona. Dustin Hooper, our VP of Sales was in attendance to support many of our grower partners who farm and market table grapes and other crops between the United States and Mexico. The show drew in over 700 attendees, providing an opportunity to reconnect with longstanding partners who have been working with Sunridge Nurseries for decades, as well as to forge new client relationships. For almost 50 years, Sunridge Nurseries has supported wine, table grape, and raisin growers around the globe and appreciate the opportunity to continue nurturing these long-term partnerships and contributing to the growth and success of these industries.

This week our VP of Sales, Dustin Hooper visited the historic in Jurupa Valley / Rancho Cucamonga. Dominic Galleano farms head trained Zinfandel, Palomino, Mission and other varieties planted in the early 1900’s. Pictured is “Red”, Dominic and Dustin in front of an old Mission vine. Galleano and Gino Filippi are working hard with the city of Rancho Cucamonga to preserve some of the oldest vines in the state at a location owned by the city. Also pictured are Dominic, Dustin and representatives from the city of Rancho Cucamonga. Sunridge Nurseries is honored to work with this group to find the best vines and propagate the new vineyard for the residents to enjoy for many decades to come.
