Here’s a little throwback to our first family trip. It was extra special because we went with my best friend and her family. She and I went to Disney many times together during our childhood and it was so magical to be there together with our kids. Looking forward to planning their upcoming trip!

DISNEY TRAVEL TIP! If it rains on your trip, embrace it, grab your preferred rain gear, and head to the parks! Look at these wait times! 🤯 Florida is experiencing some pretty intense rain and wind today. They even cancelled the special ticketed event, Jollywood Nights. On a day when the wait times would have been low already due to the early closing for the party, they are even lower due to the weather. I don’t think I’ve ever seen Slinky Dog Dash with a wait time under 60 minutes! A rainy day in Disney is better than any day at home!

A very special package arrived today! Did you know that you can ship souvenirs home from the gifts shops at Disney World? I tasked my kids with picking out Christmas ornaments to remember our trip, but we were worried about them breaking in our luggage, so we had them shipped. I also used this opportunity to purchase some surprise Christmas gifts that they’d had their eyes on. If something breaks during shipping, Disney will replace or refund whereas if it breaks in your luggage, it’s a full loss. No brainer for me!

The Grand Floridian does not mess around when it comes to the holiday decorations. We made an extra trip on our rest day to see the Christmas tree and Gingerbread house!

Looking for lower crowds? We rope dropped Adventureland in Magic Kingdom on a Christmas Party day and walked right on to Jingle Cruise (the holiday version on Jungle Cruise). After lunch, we park hopped to Animal Kingdom and stayed until close. Swipe to see the empty park at night. It was so cool to see the parks so empty!
