A special shout out is in order to Burger and Bands for Su***de Prevention, as their community-centered approach around mental health and their generous financial contributions helps to make our upcoming health retreat possible. we partner with K.E.Y.S Empowers and M.O.V.E LLC to facilitate retreats during which our students are exposed to holistic healing treatments. These retreats give our students the unique opportunity to travel, while also teaching them safe and effective ways to protect their mental health: meditation, physical activity, and other methods to control their emotions.

This Winter, LTL successfully facilitated the passport declaration for a group of Baltimore’s High School Students to travel overseas with teacher, Ms. Penn and her team. This was in large part due to Amazon’s MDT2 team and an Amazon Gives Grant. The students traveled to France, Switzerland, Austria, Germany, and even Liechtenstein. As a village we are helping our youth create memories that will change their future.

Did you know that 65% of people say that have learned cpr at some point but only 18% are actually up to date on the proper training!

We want to make sure will are installing in our students skills they can take with them as adults! The first tool to learning is being open to receive information even if you don’t see the value right away!

Zip Lining through Shenandoah Mountains 🏔️

This will always be a memorable moment with our students! Now yes they are all smiles here but the activity did not start out that way!

A few of our students were a bit fearful of trying this activity but after 2 zips that quickly changed! So much so after 7 lines they wanted to go again!

We love moments like this because it’s so much more than the activity happening here! They are learning to overcome fears, learning how to set boundaries, stepping out of their comfort zones and communicate all through something fun! We encourage this type of growth through travel!
