Counting down the days until we are sitting on this back porch with cool, fall 🍁 weather!

We are heading up to Banner Elk for Thanksgiving week and we couldn’t be more pumped! However, Thanksgiving Day 🦃 and weekend is still available (11/25-11/28)!

My favorite part of fall is seeing how all the trees change colors to red, orange, and yellow leaves. To take it all in take a scenic drive on the Blue Ridge Parkway or hike a trail!

Take a scenic lift to the top of Beech Mountain! 🌅

Now open this summer from Thursday-Sunday until October 2nd! Tickets are $12 and 5 and under ride free with a paid adult.

Enjoy spectacular mountain views of Grandfather Mountain and Linn Cove Viaduct, from the hike on Rough Ridge.

Just a 1/3-mile uphill hike from the parking area is a boardwalk atop the rocky mountain that protects fragile vegetation. Continue hiking for another 1/2 mile to the Rough Ridge summit (4,773 ft. elevation). The views keep getting better! There are several large boulders along the trail that you can sit on to take in the views. Take a picnic!

At the summit, the highest rock has cables to help you reach the top. Total elevation climb from the parking area is 480 ft.

There is nothing quite as relaxing as sitting on the banks of the Watauga River in the shadow of the beautiful Grandfather Mountain drinking a glass of wine. 🍷

On your next visit to you will want to check out the Grandfather Vineyard & Winery. They have a ELEVEN80 Eatery Food Truck and typically a great line up of live music on the weekends!
