The resiliency and gratitude of locals in and around the Banner Elk area continues to amaze me. I'm happy to report that many of the restaurants and shops are open in Banner elk. There is still a lot of cleanup work to be done outside of the main town center but guests are welcomed and encouraged to come back now. If you're thinking about coming to the Banner Elk, Sugar Mountain or similar area, I'm sure the restaurant and store owners would be most gracious for your business.

Our Boulder Creek Rental in Banner Elk did not sustain any direct hurricane damage. We have a number of trees down on the property that should be removed in the next week or so. But we were fortunate to not have any trees land on the house. In some areas on the front of the mountain it looks like tornadoes ripped through there during the hurricane. Anyway the community of The Lodges at Eagles Nest continue to be hard at work at clean up and some Road repair but beyond downed trees on eht side of the road that haven't yet been hauled away and a few areas of one lane roads, Eagles Nest is once again welcoming visitors.

Well there has been much Devastation in the North Carolina High Country, and many people in certain areas are still without power and or water, I'm happy to report that the Banner Elk area will be open for rental guests beginning November 1st. Boulder Creek sustained no tree damage although there are a lot of down trees that should be removed within the next two weeks. We still have some openings available over the coming months. In fact Thanksgiving is open still. We do hope that the town of Banner Elk will have its water situation corrected over the next few weeks so that restaurants can reopen.
